Just found out that Shutt are clearing out one of their jerseys and giving 25% off the normal price making it less than £50 (you need discount code "Club25"). I have a couple of their other jerseys and they are great, just wish I have waited a bit. http://www.shuttvr.com/shop/productdeta ... _Mens_Club Before anyone accuses me of being a Shutt employee, I'm not, I'm just and big fan and really like their stuff and the fact they make their stuff in Britain. Just trying to give a new business a helping hand by spreading the word.

Nice Silk Road gabriel959, great to see another Sunday/Sabbath rider. Had a look at the new ones with the bent tubes, they look horrible in the pictures but very nice in the flesh/Ti.

I am up next week too Tues/Weds..

Thanks for the heads up - been thinking about one of these for a while, this is the excuse I needed. Really keen to see if it can be used as a commuter top (i.e. worn for 5 days without washing) like pure merino - if so I may be buying a few others.

I don't think you will be disappointed Canny Jock, only problem is I normally do the smell test to see if my kit needs washing, i'd been out quite a few times before I realised that I should really be washing them before they smell as they had been worn far to much to be clean and still not a wiff. Let us know how you get on.

    Well spotted!

I've bought it really as a weekend jersey, but if it works for commuting all the better.

They are great for commuting due to the black on the back.. Doesnt show up the road dirt stripe... I had the blue for over a year and looked as good as new.. Gave it to my brother as I have lost 2 stone since joining Shutt in Jan!

Please can you stop posting things like this.

All I ever hear on here is Shutt this and Shutt that.

    I'm sick of it...

.... and so is my Bank Manager! :D

P.s. It really is good stuff. I have never had Rapha stuff but they would be doing very well to better the Shutt Gear and the price is much more realistic. I can really reccommend the Pro Shorts as well.

    Hi Pete,

Exactly what offers do you have on at the moment - there seem to be a few discount codes floating around and probably more that I'm not aware of...

Hi Aidan - We put offers up online on our facebook site, CW Bargain of the Week and clubroom mailing list... PM me if you need specific details so we aren't accused of selling on the forum ;-)

    Thanks, Pete

Jersey just turned up, will wear it for the ride home and report back later.

Came with some energy bar cake stuff in the pocket too!

I like mine. Merino wool is definitely worth it, plus the snack was quite tasty!

I've also quite enjoyed dealing with the company; in fact they pro-actively (horrible, horrible phrase) contacted me when I'd messed up entering a voucher code to make sure I was ok. I was, as it happened, but it's a pleasant surprise when you get an email from a real person within a company who's paying attention.

In case anyone else orders one, the sizing is *slightly* bigger than I'd expected. I'd become used to cycling clobber being nipple-popping tight (mmm, what an image) and this is a little looser.
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.

Mine too, a nice wiggle-style touch

According to the label, the merino content varies - 43% in the black panels (ie the back) but just 12% in the blue panels (ie the front of this jersey). Pete, why the variation? And maybe you could add a bit more info on the website about exactly what the Sportwool mix actually is for particular jerseys?

I'd agree with davis on sizing, but I'm actually rather glad it's a little looser than I thought it might be

All in all, it looks a nice jersey.

Well, I've just bought one, making it my most expensive jersey, by quite a way. If it's as good as the recommendations on this and other topics then I should be very happy.

Nice to see that quality items can still be made in the UK, it was a factor in my decision to buy.

Yeah, I have to say that I really like the blue Sportive LE, but the black one is wonderful. The fabric just feels lovely.

    Mmmmmm merino. More merino please.

Hi Ian - Sportwool is a brand and as such has different compositions of poly and merino, lower merino, contrary to some opinion is not a reflection is fabric quality. The labels will be changing soon as we've now sourced from another EU supplier, the website is correct though. The actual contents can also vary by batch due to the way the fabric is constructed.

The two main types used in our garments are the ribbed, black and white, and eyelet for the other colours. The eyelet and the white is a lighter weight and will feature more in our new summer range... The black we use is a standard weight.

We try and design the jersey so the benefits of each are used. In our Tour and Clubs the eyelet is to the front to aid breathability and keep you cooler. On the training top the eyelet is to the rear and the warmer/tighter weave to the front.

    Hope that makes sense, Pete
