I'm also in need of some red valve dust caps because they'll look pretty
Might I recommend these

You can buy cheaper Middleburn, Brand X etc but the quality of KCNC ones is spot on.
I can't believe I'm recommending valve caps, full review anyone?
You should also invest in some Helicopter tape, you'll only regret it later if you don't.0 -
Dirtydog11
Thanks, just ordered a pair of those.0 -
So I got some nice new superstar nano pedal thingys. In red obviosuly becuase it looks nice and red is the faster colour.
Closer up. I love them. I really do. Like lots and lots. Very pleased with the grip they give.
I also have some of those red valve caps but currently they're lost, I think they're somewhere in my room so I'm sure I'll find them eventually.0 -
I realise the bike has a small block on the rear (and an ignitor on the front). I realise this is a stupid idea at this time of year. Rear tyre got a massive tear in the wall yesterday so until it's replacement arrives I'll be using the small block. Fortunately during the week I only use it on the roads to and from uni anyway.0

i have a racing ralph at the rear ! nice bike (again!) lol btw how do change/edit the name of the topic ?0
-
Just edit the title of the thread in teh original post0
-
What tennis racquets do you have?0
-
Volkl Powerbridge 10s, although recently I'm using my old DNX 10s because they feel a bit nicer.0
-
I approve0
-
Hard not to approve really
What racquets are you using then?0 -
I've got
1 Wilson K Six-One Tour
2 Head Flex Point Prestige (one mid, one mid plus)
2 Babolat Aeropro Drives
1 Dunlop 200 Aerogel
and some Yonex racquet but I mainly use the Wilson or the Head Prestige Mid
I like a smaller racket0 -
My brother uses a K Six-One tour too, really nice racquet.0

Oooh big news.
The most significant addition to the bike so far... red chainring bolts! Although one of them has a gold back because there were only 3 red ones left.
Anyway here's some pics of the bike in the recent times because it feels so long since I've posted some up.
Bike at Cannock in January I think, bike in the background is my cousin's Five woman type thingy that she got cheap because some bloke at orange was selling it because his girlfriend wanted a new bike or something :?
Cleaning out the shed figured I'd grab a pic of whatever was in there.
L to R.
The old 1999/2000? Dawes Edge HT Team, my road bike, brothers Cube Acid, My Red Orange, dad's Ribble something...
Bike at Cannock at some point last week
And finally, those sexy sexy bolts :P

Haha very nice, I have three red chainring bolts and one silver one on my raceface cranks because i lost one of the red ones 8)0

BIG NEWS!!!!
I replaced the grip cartridges at last, now they're much brighter red and look lots lovelier.
In other news my new wheels also arrived today, they're lovely. Really pleased with the way the colours are working together, wasn't too sure about the gunsmoke but after fooking ages deciding on what colour to get I'm glad I settled on it.

jealous of your chainset ! :twisted:0

Ok so I figured I may as well post the spec. up seeing as I'm bored senseless right now and it means I can look at pictures of the bike, instead of looking at it in the flesh, or even riding it :?

A photo of me riding the bike, IIRC at this point I had a black eye from my crashings and the back wheel was quite a bit out of true, still a lot of fun though

Brakes bled after yesterdays Cannock outing...
That might explain why I wasn't able to stop though.0 -
what you on about, loads of life left in that!...............
you go over FTD/Monkey trails yesterday matey? how muddy and ripped up on a scale of 1-10?
i went off piste today and it was like a ploughed feild. horrendous.2011 KHS Full Susser Carbon 29er Race BuildClank wrote:M'eh, I might just go back to zapping it with frikken lay-zur beeeems. And sharks.0 -
They weren't that bad on the whole, ranged from a 2-5 I'd say, varied a bit between the sections. Some of the other stuff was very cut up though and more in the range of 8-9, very fun though.0

oh righty, probably due to the hardpack surface, probably should have gone over and had a look.
nice getting a bit of drift in the muddy turns though, makes me feel like i know what im doing.2011 KHS Full Susser Carbon 29er Race BuildClank wrote:M'eh, I might just go back to zapping it with frikken lay-zur beeeems. And sharks.0 -
Update time. Finally got sick of the brakes, especially when compared to those on the 456, so given them away to a mate to see if they're an improvement over his something or others which he's been complaining about. So, for the price of £68 each end, I present my new Avid Elixir CRs. First impressions are I'm much happier with them, feel a lot better built than the Juicys, ok they're a tad on the weightier than you'd be hoping for but I'm not too fussed.

Lovely looking bike. The Juicy 3's on my other halfs rockhopper are awful, I'm surprised you've managed to go as long as you have with them to be honest.0

It took a lot of patience... constant bleeding and messing around advancing the pads etc. but generally they've always done their job, just not massively brilliantly, this winter/spring has been the last straw though, especially as I've finally managed to gain a bit of weight so theres an extra stone of me to stop now too0 -

jeezuz wept if you got fed up of fiddling with the juicy's then you are gonna have alot of fun with the elixer's!!! simple rule with avid, stick to the low end stuff, their high-end range is plagued by reliability issues, lost count of how many sets I saw at the LBS back in the day! why more people don't go onto rose bikes and get xt's for less than £130 a pair is beyond me!
Bike looks fantastic though!0 -
Well hopefully lawmans wrong and they turn out to be worth every penny. I do agree about the XT's, for the money they are great, so much so that when funds allow, I'll be getting Deore's to replace the Juicy's.0
