Just got another pair of F1 Milles from Ribble whilst on offer. Was disappointed that they weren't in the usual presentation box with the chamois cream, wash and washbag though... just the shorts wrapped in a plastic bag.

Look out for lots of little pots of chamois creme going cheap on Ebay.
  • I got my F1 Uno's last week from Ribble, they came in a nice box with a wash bag but no chamois cream or wash cream.

Not overly impressed with my Assos Uno's, the pad is very good (although that just seems to be it's a denser material than most other pads) but the fit just doesn't suit me. I also made the mistake of getting the logo version and I think they add an extra panel on the legs, trouble is the seam of that panel irritates my thigh when riding.

Finally got around to buying some DHB Knowle shorts for comparison, only done a couple of sub 2 hour rides on them so far but initial impression is the fit is much better and the pad is good but maybe not quite as good as the Assos one (need to do a 3-4 hour ride to decide though).

What shorts do you have to compare these to?

And have you done any long rides on them yet, like 3hrs+? If so, how was the comfort for the duration?

Ok, cheers, i'm a tallish skinny bugger too and worry about forking so much out.

Santini fit well on the slimmer figure. Check out Prendas.

Took the Uno's back, XL not liked. Tried Castelli Free Aero's, Size L slightly more money but in my opinion ten times better fit, tailor made, sizing chart is 100% bang on, unlike Assos. They look fantastic and after a nice 30 miler today were great.
highly recommended. Assos just not for me

My experience in bib shorts in order

    1. Assos

    Gap

    2. Rapha
    3. Campgnolo
    4. Endura

    Gap

    5. Altura

    Huge gap

    6. Edinburgh Bike Co-op

I think Gore, Santini and Castelli's are the only brands I would trial before I get anything other than Assos.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Well i went for some Castelli Presto which worked out at under 60 quid from Ribble. I then spotted a few negative posts but was to late to cancel as order was at picking stage, tried them on and they're perfect. Obviously don't have Assos to compare to but....
