No vapour trails or clouds of ash here, but pretty much all fights in and out of Liverpool Airport are showing as cancelled. I feel sorry for any people intending to travel.

Yes, the Icelanders won. Which turned out to be a good thing - we would otherwise have fished all the cod to extinction in short order.

Apparently Heathrow is shut. So volcanic ash at 25,000 feet has the same effect as snow. How come no one is complaining about the Government being unprepared?

Well It'll be interesting if it drops a layer of ash over here, I know it'll be bad but still, I'm not bothered, I'm going to the hospital anyway

I best get some spiked tyres for winter though, or maybe even summer.

So no flights for 6 hours! And the last eruption lasted 18 months!

I blame New Labour and Brown/ Madelson.

this problem has never happened under a Tory government.


Now if we had a BNP government, they wouldn't have allowed the foreign ash into our airspace and would have repatriated any ash already here

Is volcanic ash good for gritting with?

If it is why hasn't Gordon Brown got people up there in hot air balloons with big nets to catch it all. So we can stock pile it ready for the cold weather and snow that the after affects of the volcano will bring this winter.

That numpty Rachel Burden (sp?) on radio 5 this morning accused the spokesman from the air traffic control authority of not giving passengers enough notice and causing the chaos of the cancelled flights....they advised the airlines and airports at 1:30 this morning. Wtf is wrong with this country where suddenly everyone expects to have their ar**s wiped for them!
