This stupid cough that's going around

Anyone else got it? Disrupting my training no end. Been with me since Sunday and it's a real persistent sod.

Quite apart from whether or not I should train with a hefty cough, I feel no motivation to do so either. :(

I've got a bit of a cough (legacy from a Cold). It's almost cleared up now :D . In my experience staying away from cold drinks (no beers  ) for a few days, not pushing things too hard in traning - especially if it's cold! Natural remedies like a lemon, honey and ginger flavoured hot drinks really help. Good luck, hope you shift it soon

    Yeah, me too!

Had it for nearly a fortnight now. It started with a really sore throat and seriously snotty sinuses, and that kept me off the bike for about a week, since that has receded I have been back to training, but I still have the streaming nose and a hacking cough, but it doesn't seem to affect my riding. I only seem to cough when I get back home.

The cough is more of an upper respiratory thing than a chest infection, and I think it is mainly due to mucus running down from my sinuses, so have no real worries training.

It is starting to fade a bit now, but still wake up coughing and am still really snotty.
    Complicating matters since 1965

Not got it but daughter #1 has it. High doses of vitamin C for me to try to ward it off.

    Doesn't work apparently

although there is this little caveat:

"However, they say it may be justified in those exposed to severe cold or physical stresses, where vitamin C doses reduced the risk of getting a cold by half.

Furthermore, they say there is "tantalising" evidence from one study that very large doses of vitamin C taken at the beginning of a cold might have a useful effect."

I've got a bit of hayfever and a cough all mixed into one lovely package! Kept me up all night coughing away.

Girlfriend gave me some cough medicine she had around the house....Potters Catarrh Mixture, it's the most foul tasting thing ever but seems to be doing the job, not coughed so far today
