been ridding my ht for almost a year now and was think of getting a fs soon as im spending more time on dark peak rocky stuff and felt my ht was is begining to hold me back on some of the down hills, but last weekend the dissadvantages of fs uphill was clear, but then again id enjoy the down hill more on a full bouncer , yet to try one0

I think we need a scientific, objective and well researched discussion into this most difficult of quandaries. Full suss is for big girl's blouses and those who ride them wear pink knickers.0

lol
with my limited experience, a sorted FS, is fine, does it really matter?Giant Trance X0 (08) Reverb, Hope Hoops 5.1D, XT brakes, RQ BC, Works Components headset 1.50 -
Any bike that suits you really! If you are happy, then it is the best.0

IMO. for xc,dj,4x,am, a hardtail is the best but for fr,dh and most aggresive am, then full suss is best, so it has to be both. but take into account that some people might have back problems and pains so a full suss is better for them in all categories0

arent ht just for poor people?0

I wouldn't call a Zaskar Team cheap ;-)0

i take it you both have one?0

Yup. To my own spec though.0

we all know that means no, you are both poor, i no longer wish to speak to you. i have a fs bike and therefore am rich and better than everyone at everything.
these are my real feelings.
i mean it.0 -

damn, you have found out my weakness, not only do i own a ht (well 2 strictly speaking but the giant is just to qualify for ht vs fs arguments dont forget) but it is a rigid with funny sized wheels and bars.0 -
I ride a HT and prefer flats personally. 8)0

There is no comparison, it's like comparing Ferraris to Hummers. They both have their purposes and the points where they excel, as well as fail. There is no definitive answer, it all depends on where you are riding and what the conditions are.0

I can't decide because the only FS I've ever ridden was circa 1996 GT LTS 3 that I rode around a carpark for 30 seconds. It didn't feel particularly good to me but it's a world away from the gleaming chunks of alloy I see whizzing past me these days.0
