nope im using a 12-36 9 speed hg61 cassette. its designed for 29er's. i originally was gonna get a complete x7 2x10 group but then saw this and thought why not just get a set of rings that are similar to the new sram stuff ...... i have the same range, just with one less rear cog, which is fine by me :D and i saved my swlf well over 200 quid doing this and i can still use all my xt stuff :D

the only downside is the new cassette weighs ........... 415g  over 150g more than my current pc990 :(

A minion front and high roller for the rear. I'm sick of reading tyre threads trying to work out whats best. Anything should be an improvement on my mk's. Lets hope next day tyres live up to their name. Well obviously not next day as its sunday so tuesday would be good as I'm off this week and fancy a trip to whinlatter.

just done exact same thing from mk's today and although a little slower on the hard stuff it seems very gripy combo on my short ride today

just 4 pairs of xtr flourine coated cables and ordered these

    rockshoxrevelationxxworldcup.jpg

to go with this (frame only) 23190.jpg

will order the frame when the rep from whyte comes by my place of work in the next few weeks :D

a small, make that large, stockpile of parts will soon be building up whilst im waiting for the frame, so watch this space :D
  • Hahahaha, you bought the same forks I almost ordered!

If you'd have been able to get a set for me when I wanted them, I'd have bought them over the Foxes. I'm too impatient though, and the foxes are just too shiny shiny to resist

Bet that 146 is going to be aces when it's done.

yep as nice as your foxes were, ive been messing with my current revs and im loving how they feel, so i thought id stick with what i know, plus i can service them myself, and im evidently not bothered by the wait, ill be waiting 4 months for the frame, but it will be a cracker ive no doubt about that :D

2 x Bontrager Mud X Tyres (26 x 2.0" for both front & back) to help with the rapidly increasing gloop!!!
    mudx-1.jpg
Let's hope Triton Cycles (£39.99 + £2.95 shipping for the pair) deliver before the weekend so that I can try them in The Peaks on Sunday.
  • Specialized Airtool Shock / Tyre Dual use pump

    Spec%20Airtool%20Shock%20Pump.jpg

Only bought it because it was the only one my LBS had in stock, but it's actually rather good. Works as both a shock pump (up-to 200psi) or regular mini-pump by twisting a dial to change between high/low pressure chambers.

Quite good looking, and unlike my current mini-pump, it's got a pressure guage.

Oh, and I just found that it also has a load of glueless patches stored inside the handle (great idea).

    Brilliant!

just checked the website, it say it only pumps upto 220psi in shck pump mode, is this true?
  • Ah yes, I forgot, you've got a rear shock to fill too haven't you.

I guess it's only designed for us poor people on Hardtails or skinny types.

    A Dell laptop

    An XT BB

    A Crossride rear wheel

I hope the later two come before the weekend so I have the agony of choice as to which bike to ride again as opposed to riding the hardtail on a borrowed rear from the full susser!
