Awesome/10.
Only one of the two black runs (Black Powder) was open when I was there, the other will be open very soon. Some of the locals have ridden it, but there are diggers on the trail at the moment.
The blue and red DH trails are like very high speed trail center descents, although to get a properly fast run, you'll have to push the limits quite substantially. they're one of those, "the more you put in, the more you get out of it" trails.
The Black Powder run is a different beast. Although it's rideable on a solid trail bike, you're going to need a DH bike to really get the best from it. It has some very rough high speed sections, and the landings of several drops are on rough rock gardens.
Apparently, the other, as-yet unopened Black run is just mental.0 -

A KS Lev , a white 60mm Truvativ AKA AM stem for my dad and a random red Fun Works bolt up seatclamp. Just trying to decide on a saddle now, Ti Fly's are too expensive
Also in the process of ordering some new bearings for my Flatline which has been forced into retirement for a month or two due to a worn linkage bolt (also ordered along with some new bushings) that is going to take at least 6 weeks to get here according to Evans.0 -
Wow Prouster, you're really getting the bike DH ready. Pop some pics of it up once it's done.0

Will do, it should be ready for the Cruddy Cwmcarn trip so you can - hopefully - see it in the flesh again. You can have another go on it as well0 -

I got mine "used" from a serial parts swapper mate for £50 and having done some miles on it I'd happily pay retail next time. Instantly correctable for me.0 -

I can get them for £60 new but I just don't want to be spending twice as much on a railed saddle as I did on an I Beam one. I may just have to bite the bullet though, can't find any other saddles that I'm totally happy with so I would end up buying one eventually anyway.0 -
Ordered in lovely shade of Red
Should provide some better grip!0 -
Stans/hope tubeless kit for the crests, let the fun begin0 -

As it happens, I've put one of these up on ebay literally an hour ago. Bought for the missus who dosent like it :
If anyone is looking to treat their wife, (or someone elses) give me a shout.
How anyone can justify £315 for a purse is beyond me though.

fuckno! It was part of the reward package for 5yrs with my employer. They're big on the "one big family" thing, so the wife got a present from them too. Not gonna complain. But if she keeps it, she'll only start getting ideas about me giving her money to go in it, and a matching bag, and shoes to match the bag......0

Then having to take her somewhere to spend the cash, then you get something for your troubles and before you know it there's another ankle biter on the way, with all the associated costs of that!!
That's one expensive purse. Get rid quickI'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Don't see the point in Shadow+
It's meant to stop clattering against the chainstays, right? Well, I haven't got chainstays.
And I'm sticking with 9 speed.0 -

Also, on the new saint mech it appears you can turn it on and off via a switch ON the mech? eh???
Anyway.. I have just ordered:

all valid points! I can see why you wouldn't want one, but for me, it can only be a good thing, it helps chain retention, less of an issue for the HD as it has a full guide, but the noise of the chainslap is just plain annoying, freehubs I can more than cope with, if anything can help eliminate chainslap, im all for it.0
