Good game, but nobody of the quality of Messi to turn the game in anyone's favour. Great goal by Robben to "win" the match though

when they went 3-0 up everyone on ITV was talking as if they were through ... I said at the TV - they only need 1 goal ! All over the moment Rooney was subbed.

    good result for England though*

I would love it, just love it if someone breaks Ribery's legs in one of the remaining Bundesliga or Champions League matches. All moaning and no talent in that second match, what a nasty piece of work.

No guts from Utd though :(

Ribery is like an ugly Gary Neville. :)
It makes me laugh the way the commentators pretend that nearly everyone in the country doesn`t want United to lose. I wanted them to win though, so that they could get beaten by Barca again.

No, his replacement, Rafael, got sent off.
If Neville was playing he never would have got close enough to foul Ribery so United might have won. Funny old game, football.

Only one side of his face is like an ugly Gary Neville, the other half is like an ugly Phil.
  • Oh there's some bitter bitter people on here.

Well you can all put your little green eyed monster back in the cage now for a few weeks. Plus deep deep down you all know you wish you'd had a team to support that had had as much success as some one as ugly as gary neville
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

I knew the score without turning on the TV. In fact I'd forgotten the match was on until I heard my neighbour screaming at the top of his lungs when Nani backheeled united's second. I too thought the game was over until I heard a muffeled cry that sounded like "YOU ******* ****" echoing through the wall as Bayern made it 3-2.

I hate my neighbour. He's Welsh, lives in Swansea and supports Manchester United. He opens all his windows and screams at the TV when they score, and wails like a tortured cat when they lose. He also chucks rubbish out his window.

Hope Spurs rip them to shreds.

Your not a football man at all if you would like to see a player get his legs broken.

I know he did'nt play but when someone says there's an untalented, moaning nasty piece of work on the pitch you have to double check if ratboy(G.Neville) was playing or not.

The level of hate (or is it envy? see below) is astonishing. Support the British teams in Europe surely? I wanted Arsenal to beat Barca and Chelsea to beat Inter, but then again I have no reason to be bitter where Association Football is concerned. I have had it good so far...

    Champions League/ European Cup:
    1968, 1999, 2008

    Premier League:
    1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999,
    2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009

    First Division Title:
    1908, 1911, 1952, 1956, 1957
    1965, 1967

    FA Cup:
    1909, 1948, 1963, 1977, 1983, 1985
    1990, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2004

    League Cup:
    1992, 2006, 2009, 2010

    European Cup Winners Cup:
    1991

    European Super Cup:
    1991

    Intercontinental Cup:
    1999

    World Club Champions:
    2008

    Charity/Community Shield:
    1908, 1911, 1952, 1956, 1957, 1965*
    1967*, 1977* 1983, 1990*, 1993, 1994
    1996, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2008

I would be happy to see all the English teams go out in the first round for the next decade because that would mean reduced income from the Champions League which will hopefully lead to a more level playing field in the Premier League.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'd prefer a return to the days when teams could come up, and, through good management, challenge for honours - Nottingham Forest, Wimbledon, Ipswich, etc.

It's a shame that the likes of Hodgson, Moyes, O'Neill, hopefully Coyle can't compete with the big boys just because they don't have enough money.

Big 4 fans are quite happy to see this self-serving, self-perpetuating oligarchy to go on unchallenged, knowing that if smaller teams bring through/sign up any decent players, they can just come in and offer three times the wages, so making it even more difficult for other teams to compete, which makes it even funnier when their fans complain about envy. All I can say is :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: - your teams have killed off football as a competitive sport, now you're getting what you deserve in Europe.

Even though we're currently in the closest-run Premiership since its conception because teams outside the "Big 4" are beginning to take more and more points from the matches with with the "Big 4"...

The envy doesn't bother me... it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Why are you lolling at "killing off football"?

I despise Man U's non Manchester fans. Stop the glory hunting and support your local team.

    Come on Charlton.

PS Pontefract, isn't that in Yorkshire?

I'm not lolling at killing off football - I'm laughing about the big 4 getting kicked out of Europe.

And we're in the closest-run Premier League - so what? It still isn't possible for a team to come up and challenge for the top honours just by good management these days - look at the list of who has won the PL/FA Cup over the last 15 years - pretty short isn't it?

We can handle it and don't need to justify the reasoning. FWIW I supported United when they were in Div2 and Liverpool and Leeds were doing the business.

Out of interest, do you despise non-local fans of other teams? There are plenty of Liverpool fans living round here.

So you're just a long time glory hunter then, it was only 1 season and I doubt you started supporting them as they went down. Not the glory hunters mentality.

and yes I do dislike people who support non local teams - just not as much as Man U fans. In my experience the Man U glory hunters are more odious and sanctimonious.
