I wonder how long it will be before there are calls for compulsory helmets for rickshaw passengers.

thats the second rickshaw accident in edinburgh in the last year or so....
I think it was during the festival last year that a woman was dragged into the rear axle by her scarf...
I can't really remember the details, but I do seem to recall that she was in quite a bad way.Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

Another reason to ban them. Taxis or public transport are much safer.0

He said it was thought the man jumped from the pedicab while it was moving.
Says it all :roll:0 -

Very sad - tragic waste of life. He survived Afghanistan only to die on a night out.0 -
You'd think that a rickshaw wouldn't be able to move fast enough to be a hazard.0

You see loads in London. No insurance etc etc.........I would never use one!0

I've ridden (driven?) one in Edinburgh. There are a few firms that own them, and as far as I know they are insured. The place I worked at seem well run, with regular maintenance etc. This was a tragic accident, but ultimately the guy jumped from a moving vehicle. People die by being hit by cars all the time, and nobody is calling for those to be banned!Bike lover and part-time cyclist.0
