Groin injury - advice?

Dejected doesn't even begin to describe how I feel as I sit here completely unable to get on my bike because of the pain in my groin caused by a training ride nearly two weeks ago...

Having done some research it seems as if I have bruised/damaged my perineum (the area between the anus and scrotum) and the pain manifests itself there and yet feels as if the testes themselves are hurt, which in fact they are not.

This is a sensitive issue in more ways than one and it has completely debilitated me and stopped my pre-sportive training in its tracks (I am doing 100km in Suffolk on May 9th).

I am worried. Is this a 'normal' injury? Have others had this? How long does it last? Is there any way to speed up my recovery? Are my cycling days over?

Any advice, insights or experiences would be VERY welcome.

I will, of course, be re-considering my saddle, but at the moment I just can't even get on my bike at all....

Agreed, that would be my first port of call as well,no need to be embarrassed,he/she really has seen it all and that should put your mind at rest a bit and go from there, get it looked at and i hope you get sorted in time for your 100k.

See a osctor - you might have an infection/biol/abcess there - or a severe bruising - but see a doctor whatever.
