Id not considered the Road machine but the review here seems quite positive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qn9pdjiHZE

The Flow is out of my price range.
  • I would highly recommend the KK Road Machine. I've spent most of the winter on mine and it's a superb piece of kit.

how does it rate to the flow? not sure anyone here will have tried both, though.

    Flow - £250 at decathlon.
    KK is £250

I have the KK Rock and Roll with road machine. Awesome. Even without RnR mechanism it is a great resistance device. Very over built, but that is what you need. Came with the Spinvervals 30 minutes dvd.

I have a Tacx Satori. It's ok, pretty quiet and very stable but where I go for my bike fit he has a Cycleops Fluid 2 which is much better...

I have a Tacx and I don't think they have the best road feel. A cycleops fuid 2 is much better and from what I've heard of the KK they are supposed to be da bom.

KK build quality is second to none with a Lifetime guarantee. Although it doesn't have a power computer, is does have a published power curve which, when combined with a rear wheel speedo, will give you a repeatable and consistent power estimation. Of course the estimate will be inaccurate, but it will be consistent between sessions. Plenty of threads on this on various forums if you do a search (quite a few on timetrialling.co.uk IIRC). Also a couple of reviews by various websites that are worth reading if you do a search.

According to the Kurt Kinetic website - Hotlines are the distributor. Chain reaction sell them and I'm sure I've seen one or two other dealers when searching on google. I would choose the Kurt too - I have a Cycleops Jet Fluid Pro, which I've hardly used and don't like very much.

The Kinetic is the best built turbo I have ever owned (and I have owned a fair number over the years) and has the most realistic feel to the pedal action with no noticeable deadspot. It doesn't have variable resistance but take it from me you will never find yourself spinning out. On the contrary you will probably wonder how you ever hold 25mph on the road.

Have you had a Tacx flow, and if so how did it compare?

Nope, never had a Tacx flow so can't make that comparison.
