Great news for once.
On top of their 4 hours live Flanders, on Sunday, Brit Eurosport have Pais Vasco back, after two years absence.
Live (90-105 min) and highlights all next week.

The following week, the have "extensive" live coverage (2 hours) and highlights of the Theo Bos Presidential Tour of Turkey. :P :)

And Paris-Roubaix coverage from 1.30pm, which is decent enough. Maybe they fired JC?

Blimey, that is a good show from ES good stuff.
I can't wait for Sunday, I am going to be suitably hung over following a wedding the day before, followed by a friends 30th birthday party and I have warned the missus that I am going to be spending all afternoon 'suffering' in front of the TV!!

I'm away for most of the Classics - hope I've got Sky+ working properly again. Mind you, advertising that as being their cycling schedule and actually showing all those at the correct time are different things - there may be a final set tie break in the U12 girls tennis in Latvia or something

  • Awesome news... Especially since after my 25m TT in the morning I'm officially back together with Mr. Duvel.

Hold your horses, Eurosport always manages to surprise. Just ask David Harmon and "JC"

Here's hoping it's all good though, fingers crossed.

    Woo-hooo! Get in!

This news has made my day. I'm away for Flanders, but HD Paris-Roubaix will be awesome!

The actual HD cycling content is very little.

    - Paris - Roubaix
    - Tour de France
    - Worlds
    - Tour of Turkey

was the sum total last year. It depends on the host broadcaster so a lot of the time ES HD is merely ES International.

Well, I'll take the first three!

Does that mean you sometimes get extended coverage when Eurosport GB is showing poker/moto GP/hilarious crash loops?

Ahh, what you need is a "margin of error" either side of the stated times on the schedule. I would suggest something like 24 hours :D

You can set Sky+ to record manually by time, too. It's hidden away in one of the settings menus, but it's quite simple.

Yes, Sky+ services menu and manual timing is easy.
P-N and CI were in HD, were they not?

Now, having looked at International's scheduling, they don't appear to have Pais Vasco in any form.
It seems as if, maybe, we have discovered the benefit of having Sky in the peloton?
Can't be Armstrong, this time, but with the return of the CI as well, we seem to be onto a winner.......

Nope and anyone who thinks they were should've gone to SpecSavers.

I know I need my eyes tested.
The pictures I had on 412 were miles better than 410, though.
Some folks on that other forum were complaining that the 410 P-N pictures were awful from the bike.
Mine were very good, I have to say.

Roll on Turkey in that case. I'd better nip down to Speckies, in the meantime.....

If I remember rightly, you're in South Wales. So am I and I haven't got it yet.

According to this blog, http://vmhd.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-hd-channels-launch-on-virgin-media.html, they're updating the system area by area. No idea when we get it.

It's typical Eurosport - nothing starts when it's meant to.

Not even an option on mine yet, expect I will be upgrading to XL to get it when it appears though. Could be anytime up until June by the looks of it!

We’ll be launching Discovery HD, Eurosport HD, E4 HD and SyFy HD on 1st April. Not everyone will get access to these new channels straight away as we are carrying out some technical upgrades to our platform and there’ll be a few areas where we’ll be staggering the rollout. But don’t worry – we’ll be rolling them out as quickly as we can, and we should be all done by the beginning of June.

Yeah, Ponty. So the chances of getting it for Roubaix look slim. Pity.

I think that they may "upscale" a standard signal when a HD signal is not avilable. Something similar to playing a standard DVD in a blueray player. Could explain the improved picture.

If last year's full season of races is anything to go by, sometimes Eurosport International has more coverage than Eurosport GB of a race, sometimes it's the other way around. So even if the pictures aren't broadcast in HD, having access to the channel should allow you to maximise cycling viewing time.

Now if only they launched Sporza HD .....

Oh happy days.......I can't figure out what has happened.
Maybe Harmon has taken out a hit on JC? :P
