If I can get out of the office before 8 tonight I want to do a 30 minutes spinverals tecnique turbo session. Rest day Saturday then club run with the MDCC on Sunday which looks like a run from Newton Abbot to Okehampton then some weird route back, figures for about 55 miles.

+1 but on the 100 mile route.
  • Work commute for me Sat & Sun, maybe 2 or 3 laps of the Triangle Sat arvo after work on the road bike (Wheezy will understand the triangle) if the weather forecast stays true.

Weather poor on Sun, and really bad on Mon when I'm off work so it'll be a bike maintenance day.

40 mile road ride for Sat or Sun, and general getting about will probably add another 20 odd miles on the commuter.

Possibly out for a few miles in the rain on Sunday, depends on how much the trauma of losing an hour of sleep time affects me :D

Nor me - I'm not going to pick up my brand new bike tomorrow morning and then take it out and see how far I can ride on it. No.

I'm just going to take it home and admire it all day, and drink beer. honest.

    Newby here - hello!

On Sunday we plan to gently introduce my sister-in-law to cycling with a nice steady roll from Washington to Sunderland - past all the artwork & the glass centre; and to the seafront for chips! Approx 20 mile round trip - me, my husband, our 10yr old son, and my SIL.

I started commuting to work last summer, but haven't been on a bike since the snow started in December, so will probably be the slowest, most fally-off person!

    Really looking forward to it!

You all make me feel like a right tub of lard - but in an inspiring way!

Hello giraffeh - have a good weekend of cycling and take care.

As for me, not been doing much lately. Will do 8 miles home tonight - nothing tomorrow and may try to get out with the slow group of the local cycling club on Sunday for a few hours.

    Thanks Benno68!

Good signature - I should think of something similar! My commute is only 4.5 miles each way, but I live at the top of a v steep hill (the car struggles), so going to work is 10 fast minutes, and coming home 30 endless minutes!

I live 3.5 miles from work but like to get in 14 miles on the way in and the same on the way back, just not been happening recently.

I love hills, in that strange sort of way

Thanks cjcp - you don't get a body like mine without careful attention to detail.
I like to stay in shape (round's a shape, right?)

    Am I posting too much? The guidelines said not to treat the forum as an instant messagy thing;
but it feels rude not to reply.

Ummm.... somewhere. A sort of introduction to using forums bit at the start.

But as long as I'm not annoying anyone, that's OK.

Hoping to get out tomorrow morning. Earned a lot of brownie points the last few days. Looks like rain tomorrow though :x. Will just have to suck it up.

Hey CJCP - pootled into work the short way today, was in a rush after sorting the dogs out and giving Sinbad (the tortoise) a wake up bath and a drink - he's got the right idea sleeping through winter!

I will go out tomorrow but no plans, not sure if I'll go out with the club but I'll see how the land lies with Mrs. Benno. I may suggest that she has a quiet day and enjoy herself in the gyms spa/sauna for a few hours :D

I've dropped the bars by 10mm today so I'll see what affect that has on the way home, got a 130 stem on order which will hopefully be an improvement. Recently I've been finding it more comfortable on the drops, my shoulders and neck have felt scrunched when I'm on the hoods. Nothing to do with being more aero, honest.

Have a good ride tomorrow, at least the rain will keep you cool!

Cheers, you too. You joined Ajax? I might try and latch on to one of your rides if I'm down there.

You have sound tactics re Mrs Benno.

So what's your cycling plan for the weekend?

Today I did day one of my British Cycling level 1 coaching certificate. Not much actual cycling involved, apart from the ride to and from the training location, and a bit of practical work.

I went for a nearly 70 mile ride from Cambridge to St Neots with the club, I was knackered on the way back!!! A couple of hills, lots of headwind on the way there and a nice tailwind coming back.
