A bicycle is like making love to a beautiful woman... I don't know why.

Doesn't matter really, if you have a compact I'd go with an 11-23 cassette. But even then, a 12-25 would be fine...

You don't use the small ring unless it's a hilly race.

I have a 52-37 setup on my racing bike FWIW.

ah ok cheers. I think I'd be happiest on a compact 12-25. I'd need to bike for Sunday runs and less competitive events too. It's very hilly round here and I think a 23 is a bit daunting.

thank you - I've seen a few - and test ridden a Bianchi Infinto. The Infinito could be the bike for all purposes. But I like the look / black colour of the Cannondale and I like it's classic looking sleek lines! I might have to stretch to the Ultegra version which is white though :(

ARR well call me vein but that was the reason i didn`t go for the Cannondale.
I wanted the SuperSix Hi/mod RED groupo. But i found the colour scheme horrid.
And i just couldn`t stretch my budget to the next model up which has a far better paint scheme IMO that is.I`m really happy with the way i went in the end.
I`m building an Addict SL up myself its in the your road bikes section.
I`m enjoying waiting for the bits and building it.
Looking forward to seeing what wins your money.
