Is it noral for TSS to exceed 100, but IF to remain below 1, at 0.78 ?
What should I alter to get TSS back to 100, if anything?

Cheers.

If you are getting over 100 for an hour your threshold is wrong. But if you are doing more than an hour it's normal to go over 100

If you have an IF of 0.78, and a TSS of 100, then it means you rode for around an hour and 40 minutes.

You don't want to "get your TSS back to 100" that would be a nonsense thing to do.

As reddragon says, you shouldn't have a TSS of over 100 for any activity less than an hour.

Yes, normal. You don't need to alter anything.

You only need to alter FTP if your IF for one hour is more than 1 / TSS over 100

Cheers, that's what I thought, but couldn't be sure.

  • IF is an expression of relative intensity. Normalised power expressed as a fraction of FTP

TSS is an expression of, well, stress which is a function of relative intensity and duration. So you could have a long low intensity ride and still rack up high TSS.
