Your weekend ride...

  • I went for a nice quiet ride round the local lanes, just discovering new roads as I went.

One of those new roads just happened to be the A-frickin-55! Which, when combined with the tiredness of a windy 30 mile ride and a hungover student, equalled code brown for all three scaryscary miles until the slip road for thr Wrexham road back into Chester. I can assure you I will not make that mistake again.

Doing the leeds Ride it on sunday. Heading out on the 50 miles will probabaly have to ride there and back so im hopeing it stays nice.

Did you have a good run? I did the long route. I'm knackered now but glad I did as the scenery is far nicer on the extension. 5:20 pedal time for 80 miles and near 6000 feet climbing. Looks poor compared to Freehubs efforts though!

I stuck to the 50 miles managed in at about 4 hours Im glad i did not get macho and head out for the extra loop as i was done by the time i got back in. ( too much snow and cake in jan slowing me down  ) Cracking ride out well marked and the route was a nice one.

They where right though you where going up hill or down hill never on the flat for the whole ride.

I went (in training for the fred whitton) for a ride from Kendal over the Kirkstone pass over to Keswick and back around. Its the furthest I've done on a bike for a while of 64 miles and I felt surprisingly fresh afterwards, although very hungry! And the weather was good once I got over the pass to the north.

I wouldn't recommend going on any of the roundabouts near Airbus. Especially when there's so many nice and quiet roads around there.
