Your weekend ride...

What weekend ride(s) do you have planned this weekend? Will you be solo, with a small group of mates or out with the club? How far and where are you headed?

I will more than likely be solo this weekend, possibly joined by Ben6899 Snr for a few miles...

Tomorrow, I plan to get up early and leave the house not long after sunrise and I’m looking to do 40/50 miles. It will likely be a flat pace ride heading out towards Cawood and Ulleskelf.

Sunday I hope to be out again… not sure how far, but I’d like to include some hills so I might head out towards Emley Moor and Holme Moss.

If I can finish work in time today, then I’ll squeeze in a 20 miler before my teatime pint at the local!

40-50 miler today, hoping to get out by late morning if I can get me work done in time...

Saturday - same again, or rollers, depending on what the weather's doing

Sunday - club run, so probably end up doing around 50 again

Followed by an easy week next week, as first race of the season is looming on 28th... :|

25 mile TT on Sunday morning :? Not sure if I like these or not. It seems to be all about suffering for an hour and a bit (not telling how long the "bit" is)

I'll ill, it's only about 30% likely (I reckon) that'll get to ride on Sunday. Was planning 50-70miles in the peaks tomorrow, and club run on Sunday.

Race tomorrow morning, being dropped off by the OH so I can ride home after probably a detoured route of about 40-50 miles.

Club time trial on Sunday morning where I'll probably ride as poorly as I did at last weeks.

Saturday a loop through the national park nearby, about 70km with some hilly bits. Will try hard, I promise.

Sunday morning an easy flat run out to the beach for coffee with friends (no cake though...).

Go out with bimma and his pro rider mates and when you're shat out of the back of the mini-peloton you can use Sunday as a Recovery Ride(TM)

The bottom bracket was showing some play so I took it to my local shop to have it replaced. The guy told me a few days later that he couldn't get it out, it was seized in. So instead of giving up I decided to try another shop and he said his lads would give it a good go. That was over a week ago. I don't mind too m uch since they always do a good job, even if they are a little more expensive; I just hate waiting.

I was gonna pop out for some milk and the latest edition of Razzle.

About half a mile, but the kerbs make for some nasty climbs.
  • Hearts vs Hibs at 12.30 tomorrow, so I'll be in the battle cruiser at 11.00am for first orders.

Sunday, friends coming over so roast + lots of red I'd imagine.

Your commitment should be encouragement for all of us! But I'll avoid the kerbs - some of them have a 100% gradient. Besides, it looks like rain tomorrow. So, black tea for me, then...

I had agreed with Mr A that I would ride Sat am and he would ride Sun am. Just been out to the garage and it's pouring with rain. :( I had hoped to do my first 3hr ride at 8am. Winter bike currently doesn't have a saddle so may have to go out on new bike regardless.
  • Sunday ride around the closed roads here (6am-9am) totally flat and not too fast - about 50 miles.

Next weekend .....now that will be a doozy! 8)
