Hi
I have just invested in a Garmin 705 cycle road pack.
Excuse me for being a bit of a muppet, but it came with the Euro road mapping. Do i just shove the SD card in the back of the unit and the mapping lads itself in, or do I have to do something else too?
Also, the screen shots show the mapping as a car satnav, is this correct, as the screen on the Garmin is just a basic screen
Im a bit confused

Yes, insert the SD card under the cover on the bottom of the gadget. The screenshots show the Edge in route guide mode, you can add or remove data fields to the display via the settings option in the menu.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

If you've not already had a look, this website offers loads of helpful tips on using bike GPS units:

You can also add the OpenCycleMap which is beter for cycle routes and also contours
THe appropriate map can then be selected fromthe menus for the task in hand.
I must admit I mainly use OCM with contoursHe that buys land buys many stones.
He that buys flesh buys many bones.
He that buys eggs buys many shells,
But he that buys good beer buys nothing else.
