just bought some hopes after my i decided my magura louises were crap and had they had a broken clamp, service from magura was crap, nobody had a spare lever, they werent great from day one and at time had very inconsistant performance, yet the mags haved raved about them for last few years :?
only been out on the hopes about half a dozen times but already im seriously impressed, great power, amazing modulation, bit noisy when wet but other thn that they are superb0 -

There all drunk or completely bonkers mate.. either that or bald and so pro brittain that they love them solely for the fact you can have them with the union jack on0 -
If Hopes were any good, I'd get some - got a Hope light, QR seat clamp, skewers and headset and really rate their kit. Brakes seem to have mixed reviews.0

Most of them use the mono lever though (myself included) and they don't haev the union jack on.
You could be right about the bonkers bit though. Some of them are absolutely nuts0 -
My Saints rule. +1
I am now a shimano fanboy. er , no lol
All other brakes are pwned rofl lmao best brakes in the world innit. sort of +1 but without the jive talk.
The jive talk was meant to reflect the spirit of the thread! I don't even know what lmao means!
Hopes were great back in the day I've owned a set of Mono Mini's and I still use a set of Mono M4's but the new Shimano brakes just wipe the floor with them.
I've tried Juicy 7s and Elixir CRs they had decent power but were both wooden and grabby.0 -

It depends what you want. If you want infinite spare part/customizing options and simplicity then Hope is your only option.
Shimano brakes are pretty good nowadays though. I got on a bike with SLX brakes on and nearly went over the bars with a 160mm rotor :oops:0 -
i have tried hayes, hopes and avids...
currently codes on the big bike and elixirs on the hardtail.....
definite one finger braking.
the hopes were great (original minis though....the mono ones were nowhere near as good)
the hayes were great as well...no matter what all the haters (hope fanbois) say...
mind...I will never get rid of my hope bulb hubs....they rock.Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
