I Hate My Avid Elixirs

I have a new bike with Avid Elixirs and I think they are possible the worst brakes I have ever used. They are very difficult to bleed because they do not have a resevoir and even when they are bled they do not have a very nice feel to them. I miss my Shimano XT disk brakes.

New bike? Why do the brakes need bleeding?

I disagree.. I use the Avid bleed kit and they're a piece of cake to bleed...

What do you mean by 'not have a very nice feel to them'? Are your pads bedded in? They can be a little on/off grabby if you slam the on hard but you get used to that and adjust your braking accordingly.

Only problem I had was sticky pistons but that was easy enough to sort out once I knew what it was..

It doesn't mean anything - just a post to advertise as nick says (which would now be deleted).

    Ignore.

Every time I look at binning my Juicy 5s when they run/squeak, they start behaving again! I'd go for Formulas but i've heard the service is a bit iffy.

I thought Elixirs were meant to be great? I did consider them for a while.

Have you read the whole thread?

The OP was someone advertising a mtb holiday company. So he made a pointless post, bound to attract a lot of replies, so that people would see the ad in his sig.
