Great photo. Note Skippy Anderson behind.0

One of my favourite riders, but I always had the uneasy feeling he was the product of some French "Care in Community" scheme. Probably second only to Abdou in terms of random acts of agression.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0

Yes, I remember a couple of Tour's ago he took exception to some twat that tried to grab a water bottle from his bike after he'd finished a stage.0 -
Cadel Evans would give you a good scrap if you stood on his dog.0

I'd got for Frank Hoste. He's just got a suspended sentence for duffing someone up.

Remember when he sprinted full-tilt into a bunch of French Dockers (?) who were blocking the road during a TdF stage? Staright into them & started lamping them!Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0

Isn't that photo taken from the same incident? Christ, of all the Unions to start a fight with, dockers wouldn't be at the top of my list! I'd give them BA folk a good doing over though0 -
I thought it was a photo from Paris-Nice? I may be wrong.-- Dirk Hofman Motorhomes --0

I think you're right Phil. Arm warmers are a rare sight in July in France, as are coats.0

I was just getting into cycling at the time. Hinault received broken ribs in this fight. It was 1984 Paris Nice and was reported briefly by Dicky Davis on World of Sport. Gotheteeshirt2 was either leading Paris Nice GC or stage winning at the time..hence the report made UK news.0
