Good Morning figments of my demented imagination!

It's a lovely sunny day in south Wales. 8) We seem to have lost the bitter north easterly wind, so this morning's ride to work was extremely enjoyable. I'm not going to call it a commute today, as I rode in on the NRS, taking in a more scenic (and off-road) route and TBH, I was probably a couple of .mph quicker than on the Mares.

Eagerly waiting from my Ti bolts from CRC to turn up today - I'll fit them at lunchtime, so I'll be even faster on the way home.

Anyone know what Cree Cycles postal times are like? Ordered a KCNC seatclamp last night, hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow...
  • Good day interwebs.

Well, I was going to have today and tomorrow off and do some Gardening and some riding and maybe tidy the garage a little bit in preperation for all my shiny new bike stuff arriving next week.

    However...

Last night I went for a quick ride, nothing mental, just a quick loop. About half way round I got a pain in my left side, like a stitch. It was right where the bars stuck into my ribs when I came off on Sunday. It gradually got worse until I had to get off the bike and push it home. It's now hurting like a sonofabitch every time I move, cough, laugh, fart, breathe etc so I think that maybe riding is off the cards for the near future

Just ordered a new cheapo cam from LuckyAllen. Hopefully, the guy buying my tyres will pay me today so I can get them shipped too.

Think I'm going to go buy some mega powerful weedkiller in a bit and try and kill off the triffids in the back garden!

Good Morning websterbikers! And it's a pretty good morning it is in the world of macaroni covered in a tasty cheese sauce. Today is my last day of work this week and there's a good vibe in the office as my boss' second child is going to be born tomorrow and he's pretty excited. Then it's a weekend of Stag-tastic frolics starting tomorrow for my soon-to-be married brother - The only downside is I have to venture "up north" to darkest Yorkshire.... ;)

Take some coal with you to feed to the locals to keep them at bay. And throw shiny pennies to them from your horseless carriage

    *does the excited dance*

Bloodtests are fine, just think of all the hottie nurses. Some of the female ones can be quite asthetically pleasing too...

I have them (at the hospital) every month or so. I also test my own blood 2 hours after every meal.

Well I've sent my Mavic shoes back to CRC, hopefully they have a quick turnaround time.

Am now just about to pack the car to head up to Cannock but can't decide which bike to take...

Waiting for a new tent to arrive. I know I shouldn't be but I can't help being a bit excited...!

No new bikes bits but replacing the MTB cassette, chain and chainrings soon.

Currently SRAM 970 cassette and chain (or a number near that) but thinking of stepping up to 990/991. Not sure about chainrings - got an SLX triple chainset - is it worth getting ti chainrings? Hmmm...

I have a Ti granny ring on the Coiler - purely because the alloy ones would last me 2 months of mud plugging at most before I'd suffer with chain-suck.

Haven't gone for the middle one yet, as I seem to manage okay with the alloy ones.

Also, haven't surprisingly got them on the NRS, but that's because the alloy/carbon fibre ones I have on their are lighter... :D

I'm not weight weenying, just want long lasting chainrings. The middle SKX one is steel so it lasts well - maybe I'll just get another.

TBH, if you're after longevity rather than weight saving, the steel one makes more sense.

I'll stick to steel then. The bike is light enough (23lbs ish) even with a steel middle ring. I hate stuff that blows up too quickly - like my old Stylo crank. And the old X-7 shifters. And and and

You would not believe the amout of 'lightweight' stuff I've broken of the past couple of years. 23lbs is light enough unless your doing any serious racing.

No "serious" races lined up but I did one last year and the bike performed very well.
