Bike Equipment Brands You Love

In response to the flood of negativity on the other thread I thought i'd set one up for the stuff you love, expensive or cheap, big or small who makes the stuff that keeps you going back to that company?

A few for me

Etxeondo- Have never bought anything from them that hasn't lasted and done it's job excellently. Never thought I'd say a £200 jacket was worth the money, but it was!

Fizik: Think i'll be an Arione as long as I'm cycling

Sidi: A few teething problems with the Ergo 2 s for me, but once I got used to them, the best shoes I've ever owned by a country mile.

Oh and Winston's Brand embrocation... They sent me a hybrid for free to make up for the high postage charge to the UK, embro that lasts for hours, has an awesome reburn in the shower and is homemade in someones shed (perhaps).

My Shimano SPD peddles, cannot do without and love how long they seem to last. My ancient Nike SPD shoes, 7 years old and still going great guns. My bike in general, it may not look posh like others but it's my baby and wuv it!

    Castelli love their clothing.

Fizik for me. All their saddles have suited me.

SRAM I have used for road (Red and Rival) and off road (X.0) cannot fault it.

  • VIttoria Open Pave Tyres - Make the ground feel creamy buttery smooth, phenomenal grip, solid on the descents.

About £30-£35 a piece but you have to get them into your life.

Note of caution - Running them at any point below the max 130psi makes you feel like you have a flat.
    What wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!

Charge Spoons - Fit me right and are proper comfy, to be found on 4 out of my 4 bikes.

Shimano Drive Train & Brakes - fantastic, Shimano Hydro disc brakes are really very good.

Lusso - their shorts are just nice, fit well, good for four hours at least with me.

Decathalon Track Pumps, cheap, reliable, strong - sorted.

Hope - looks nice and works well

Specialized Shoes, fit really well, look good and ar very comfortable & hard wearing - MTB ones are 2 yrs old and have been through the washing machine 3 times :D

+1 for Etxeondo, my Euskatel Orbea top has been fabulous and is still retina burning orange after two years.

Kenisis- Does everything you could want from a frame for a reasonable price. My son's Crosslight 3T is in grave danger of being permanatly 'borrowed'

Orbea- Yes I have one but all their bikes look good.

Tesco- Their track pump is brilliant for £9.99

Michelin- Cycles, motorbikes or cars, still the best tyres IMO

Oakley. Stupidly expensive but arguably the best and good customer service

Rapha As with Oakley but even more overpriced. However, class and quality

Assos. Cycle clothing designed for cyclists. The shorts are the benchmark.

Santini/Prendas. Great kit for not mad money

Sidi Great cycling shoes worn by everyone at some time

Michelin. ProRace 3. A fantastic tyre

Vittoria. Open Pave is the classic tyre not just for classics

    Campagnolo. Italian class.

Shimano. An alternative that revolutionised the market

Mavic, Shimano, Scott, Conti and Time. Perfect combo.

And I thought you were a Euro cyclist adherent!
Change that to Lightweight, Campag, Pinnarello, Vittoria and you can keep 'Time'. :)

    Personally, +1 DeFeet.
White gloves and white oversocks, smartens up any outfit.

Also Sealskinz make good arm warmers for whoever asked.
