It is dependent on the Sportwool fabrics we use 2 types black and white are the same and the coloured ones are another... The jerseys are designed to use the merits of both...
Remember low merino content doesn't equal poor quality.

being a cyclist of 20 plus years riding its nice to see that a uk manufac is making inroads in to making some nice quality tops that fit the larger rider its quite hard to get a top to fit when you have a 46/48inch chest from rowing/and cycling i admire the fact also there trying to use more trad materials with a bit more tech lke i used to wear when i first started racing back in the early 80s
ive used assos for years but there sizes seem to be shrinking .... ;-) so cheers shutt for making man size cycling gear for the broader chap...
and can you please do some brighter colours ..... i like to be seen on my bike ....0 -

I don't think there is a substitue for shopping around. Fit is so important.
If you mean short sleeve jerseys then ignore the following:
My best quality item? Exteondo jacket bought in a sale. Spanish top drawer brand who don't fanfare as much as others and apparently often make clothes for other labels.
Most comfortable item? Northwave jacket because the fit all round is not as close as many cycling items, most noticeable on the forearms, biceps and under-arms.
Best bargains? Enduro plain black Mountain bike top although I use it for road, just right for Spring. Simply comfortable and again bought from a sale rack.
Essentials? In jersey terms I have found the under-layer to be important. My favourites are definitely my long sleeved or short sleeved Helly Hansen One. I feared it would itch like my old HH but this an entirely different materials. Soft and comfortable hence I bought another and choose to go with jacket and conditions. Also Microshell gilets, you don't get hot in them and they keep the wind off. I have a red Gore and a grey Pearl Izumi. Pockets are handy for cleat covers too!
In other words it can depend on what you pair the jersey with and it doens't have to be expensive or even just a road jersey.
If you simply mean better quality jersey again ignore all the above save for the importance and personal nature of how jerseys fit the individual!0 -

For clarity it sat on the Evans sale rack in their MTB section when bought last year but may not be an MTB top. Pretty sure it was one of these:

You never know what's going to be on sale and generally you buy out (ahead) of season.0
