What type of bike clothing are you wearing?

A bit of a general question really, but what type of bike clothing are you wearing for the current weather conditions?

Today down South was fantastic weather -- really sunny, blue skies but also flipping cold when in the shade. I've always thought this time of year is a bit tricky to get right for layering etc as its very changeable. So what are people wearing on rides at the moment?

I'm currently wearing:

* Merino base layer (especially if flipping freezing)
* Sometimes a mid-layer depending on the cold, which might be a short sleeve cycling top
* Gore softshell jacket
* Tights (no chance of getting the shorts out yet!)

But I saw a couple of guys braving it in almost summer gear this afternoon, the nutters!

All I do when it's cold is add a cheap fleece as a top layer over my usual riding kit. In colder weather (-5 and downwards) I add a thermal base. But that's it really. Just now I'm just in regular riding kit, it's not been cold enough to need thermals etc.

I wore shorts all through the winter too, except when it was actually snowing.

My last ride was in shorts and a t-shirt because I was so excited about the sun coming out that I forgot it was actually still cold! Next ride probably going be shorts and a long sleeved jersey, maybe base layer too if the sun isn't out.

I wore shorts in the snow too, needless to say i got some funny looks but apart from my shins getting a little chilly occasionally from riding through an icy puddle, i didn't really mind.

    But yeah i wear:
    t shirt
    mtb jersey
    cheap baggy shorts
bandana (keeps my girly hair out my face)
vans skater shoes (good with flats, want some five-tens though)
two pairs of socks (one thin, one thick)

I was also wearing a scarf/snood type thing and an extra t shirt when it was really cold/snowing.
I've ordered a decent base layer and some enduro shorts though, hopefully should be a bit more comfy.

I found today fairly warm and had bib shorts with leg warmers, shoes with no covers, s/s base layer under a s/s jersey, on top an Assos gilet and castelli neoprone gloves. Just about right..not too hot, not too cold. Probably could have done without the leg warmers.

Yestday out on Dartmoor I had 5 10 freeriders, wetsuit socks, Fox launch knee/shin pads, endura undershorts and baggies, specialized ss base layer, gridlock jacket, royal race shirt (to cover the florescent yellow jacket!), buff up over my head, lid, ice-working gloves from a local PPE place. temp was about 0 and there was strong cold winds, i was a bit chilly but fine as long as we were moving.

For the commute today it was Vans SPD shoes, wetsuit socks, leg warmers, undershorts and baggies, ss base layer, jacket, buff, same gloves and again i was fine once i'd warmed up.
Giant Reign - now sold :-(
Rockhopper Pro - XC and commuting

Yesterday in the nice but cold weather on the south downs I was wearing:

Baggy Shorts with padded lycra undershorts
Kyle strait kneepads to keep my knees warm
Vans SPDs with thick running socks
    some old t-shirt
A cheap waterproof (breathability = zero - the inside was literally dripping by the end of the ride)
    Buff
    Windproof gloves
    Santa Cruz Chameleon
    Orange Alpine 160

That just wasn't happening this morning - too much stop/start traffic to get a good pace going. :(

This, which seems to be pretty standard, with a long sleeve merino baselayer and a gore windproof jacket over the top. And winter gloves, started off with regular ones but ended up with pretty cold hands.

Sundays ride - Bermuda 3/4 shorts, canuck long sleeved jersey, mismatched socks, vans and my knacked brown gloves.

Had my stealth and s'skin gloves in the bag though just incase the weather turned a bit harsher.
