I got the original on DVD a month or so back. Not watched it yet, was going to last night, but the OH didn't want to watch a violent film (not sure if the original has the violence that the Tarantino one did) as she had nightmares after watching Gran Torino on Saturday night (and it's not even very violent!)

Watched Che 1 instead. Which I liked, but that's in a different vein to IB!

I enjoyed it but typical Tarrantino with way too much dialogue in places. He's made a few good uns over the years such as Pulp Fiction, Resevior Dogs, jackie Brown, From Dusk Till dawn etc, but he's made a lot of crap too. More recently I've found a lot of his films a bit too indulgent with way too much dialogue for the sake of it. Death Proof for example. Kurt Russell was pretty good but all the dialogue between the girls...

    Yeah, whatever.

Worth seeing just for Christophe Waltz's performance alone - it's been hyped everywhere but it really is that good. Amazing how he makes his character so creepy, terrifying yet oddly almost charming at times. I found the rest of it pretty p-ss poor (apart from that cellar scene).
