The point is plain as set out clear as day in my last two posts. If people who read it don't agree then I'm sorry but there is nothing I can say further.

DG, age is nothing but numbers. For all you know I could be 14. I am not trying to win anything but when someone says something which is wrong and says they know how to deal with a time when they are wrong then they are shown to be wrong and cannot accept it, it needs to be pointed out, which I did. Nothing wrong with that.
I've come across your ramblings before.if you are not 'winning' the argument, you get personal.
I believe you are about the age of my youngest child, that is,about 10
    so many cols,so little time!

That is abundantly clear he is a TT specialist. If you can't see that then you are deliberately being obtuse.

    Of course he is.

He's not won many that many though. Only 1 at Pro Tour level as far as I know. Hell, Millar has won 3 at that level post ban.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Yes Kleber it is a good placing. I didn't say otherwise except to say he should have done better considering everything.

The point remains that people seem not to realise he is a TT specialist through and through even if his only goal this year is a stage race.

    A Ras.

In 2008 it was the Olympics and it is more than widely known that they were Wiggns' only goal. The road meant nothing.

    Furthermore, his only results in the whole of 2008 were a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th and a 5th in a TTT and TTs.

In 2009, his placings are as follows:
    3 ITT wins
    1 TTT win
    ITT placings: 21 in Worlds (mechanical as you all know), 4th, 6th, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd
    TTT placings: 2nd, 2nd

That is abundantly clear he is a TT specialist. If you can't see that then you are deliberately being obtuse.

    3 (+1 team) wins, 5 (+2) 2nds, 1 3rd, 1 4th, 2 6ths and 1 write off.

So using your evidence above you're surprised he finished second. You are an odd character.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I'll say it again as the point seems to have gotten lost...

He was only beaten by one person - Rasmussen who is prepping for the World Track Championships in March.

So under those circumstances - Wiggo probably did the best he could.

Because he does well in a lot of TTs - does that make him a 'specialist'? Especially when his aspirations lie elsewhere? I would have thought he was a track pursuit specialist. It just so happens that many of his track skills lend him towards being a good TT rider.
  • You guys do have a good time arguing against my points it seems whenever the opportunity presents itself.

The day would be a bit boring without a bit of FF baiting.

Do you ever wonder why that is?

Ah..... good old FF. I remember the early days when all you wanted was advice on how to shave your legs.

At least it's never dull now.
  • FF is entertaining, he talks alot of rubbish and I really do mean alot of rubbish.

I would like to know if he was particularly disgusted with the form of Larsson. In the two biggest TT's of the last two years he has only been beaten by Mr C so surely he should have smoked everyone yesterday.

Or maybe it doesn't work that way, maybe on any given day there are a bunch of guys capable of winning any given race. It wouldn't be much of a sport if that wasn't the case.

Yep, that's one the reasons I like the one day classics - they're so hard to predict. Grand tours are a little different though - particularly the TdF.
  • good rides by Wiggo in the TT and final stage. Sky have done well, no doubt to many people's dissapointment
