Health leg pain

I have a Giant road bike fitted with Spd sl cleats and use shimano shoes, but when i am out cycling and reach 20 to 25 miles i have to stretch my legs to relieve the pain in back of both legs, would this indicate that the saddle is set too high or too low,

Not sure, which affects what muscle group, but it could be an indication of incorrect seat height.
Has this started since you changed something?
How did you work out your saddle height?

I was using Speedplay zero's up till about seven months ago, but stopped as there was far too much float, that's all that has been changed, my saddle height was worked out by Cyclefit in London while i had a bike fit.

I take it your Cyclefit was done using the Speedplay pedals?
If so, you'll probably note that there will be a difference between the height of the two pedals, and probably between the depth of the cleats, too.
In short, your saddle height will need a slight adjustment to counter the pedal change.

I spoke to Kimberly at Cyclefit regarding this, but she assured me that there is only a difference of 2mm so she advised me to leave things as they were.

  • why don't you go back to speedplays and adjust them so that there is less float?

I tried Speedplays' for about three months on the advice of a local bike shop, but the pain was the worst i have had, i tried adjusting the float all roads but nothing seem to work, i give the Speedplays' to a mate at work but he found them to difficult to engage so he sold them.
