My 16 year old daughter is going to T in the Park this year. I tried to persuade her to take in the Stranglers while she is there and I even offered to lend her my original 1983 French Tour T-Shirt with the Black Panther motif on it. How cool is that? 8)
The answer:
Verbal: "No Dad!" :?
Non-verbal: 'I can't believe you are really saying those words, you sad old has-been. Leave me alone and don't try to intrude into my world, after all, it was my generation that invented music.'
Then I remembered what I was like when I was 16 - listening to Rattus Norvegicus in my bedroom and liking the fact that my parents wouldn't even begin to understand the lyrics!!

Funny you say that. You see quite a few young people at Stranglers gigs these days. Last year in London, there seemed to be hoards of young nubiles turning up to see the Meninblack. They certainly have a mixed fan base. However, the Stranglers have always had a hardcore fan base!0 -
