How many rides have you managed this year?

It's not the cold - it's snow/ice on the roads that stops me. I'll ride in -50° if the roads are clear and dry.0
-
Only 5 so far, like others, due to the snow / ice. I've dicounted the one where I went out and then decided that my face was too cold and turned back.
I expect to get at least 3 rides a week from now on though.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -
Only a few for me, but I'm with Pokerface on this one - cold is fine, snow/ice not so much fun.0
-
Managed 3 so far. I don't mind the cold, I mind the ice. Probably would have done 1 or two more if I didn't fall off to weeks ago and injure my leg.0

You forgot the <0c0

Only ice on the road stops me getting out on the road bike. Even then as long as it's not suicidal I'll still go out.
I switch between MTB and road so can do either depending on weather.I ride therefore I am0 -
I can cope with all weathers except ice. I really don't like biking on a black ice.
I've only probably had 3 decentish long road trips. 90% of work days done by biking commute and a dozen short trips by MTB. All told about 1/2 of what I did last year in the first 6 weeks.
There was 1 or 2 sportives in March I was planning to do, but now I don't think I'll be fit enough for more then 40 odd miles at this rateCAAD9

I'll go out when it's subzero, I'll risk a dusting of snow but not when there's ice about.0

My fifth ride outdoors this year was my first race. Awesome going."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

I'll go out when it's zero, but I tend to give the bike a miss (I'm unemployed at the moment) when it's cold, windy and wet unless I have to. There's something about the way people drive on urban roads in the wet that makes my hair curl - I don't know what it says about people's risk assessment skills, but I'm convinced that the lower the visibility, the less danger drivers can see, and the lazier their driving gets.0
-
only really if its wet/windy as then you can get really cold or icy as you will probs fall off. I think it best to stay on turbo if it bit dodgy0
-
18 times to date - average just on 20 miles, as with others cold OK but it`s when roads icy / snowy problems.
Have mostly stuck to main roads too (apart from a few MTB trips); here (Wales / Hfd borders ) there have been 35 days to date with snow lying in morning this winter. Can cope with down to -5c before truly unpleasant; find of the year has been silk inner glove liners + cosy hands even to -5c + of course a decent Assos top !!!0 -
Don't mind going out in sub zero temps, but yeah too much snow, or ice and I say no no.
I'll be honest with my de marchi winter jacket and some thermal base layers has to get down to about -5 before I keep it fully zipped up!
I dream of when the days are long and the ice has gone."I hold it true, what'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."

Much easier and quicker to get bike kit on for warm days too...........0
-
Oh and to answer the question, excluding riding to work and back, I've been out once0
-
Rarely get to go out more than twice a week in summer!0

I must be missing something here...
I just counted back in my training diary - so far since the beginning of the year I've managed 20+ road rides (usually between 30-60m) and a smaller number of roller sessions. Nearly 800 miles on the clock so far, which at this time of year is bugger all....
And here's me thinking I wasn't doing enough.......0 -

I've got barely over 600 road miles since about october, due to snow and uni. A good turbo and gym program has pretty much made up for it though."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

Go out in any temp, as mentioned above, only snow or ice on the roads will keep me off the bike, even them I've got a cross bike, and a MTB, so have been out in snow on these as well.
Been out most days since the new year, 730 miles done in Jan alone.0 -
40 days riding ( four days rest and nine off with illness) for a total of 909 miles to date although about a fifth of those have been on the rollers or turbo.0

Went over the Lammermuirs last Friday afternoon, went over several iced over bits of road. One was about 3 bike lengths long (Ice skating class), swear the bike moved left then right under me before hitting dry road again. Twitchy!Twitchy!
200mile plus this month barely 100 last month. Was thinking about the Evans Ride it at Aberfoyle on Sunday but not looking good for variuos reasons, on Holiday till Saturday and one car in the garage.

I think I've done about 1500 miles since crimbo. That's including the turbo too0
-
20 rides and about 400 mies so far , on a couple of rides my water was frozen in my bottles when i got back, glad ive grown a beard as well it helps keep your face from freezing0
-
21 rides this year so far mostly of which have been around the two hour mark as after that, I start to freeze no matter how many layers I have on. Being cold really does take the fun out of cycling (but then, when its 30C I will be moaning its too hot!)
I went out on New Years day when the wind chill was down at -7c. Got two miles before having to stop as I could not feel my hands or feet.
I dislike ice (fell twice this year on it already) but wont go out if its raining: I find it impossible to see as I wear glasses.0 -
I commute every day and get at least one ride in on the weekends. Missed a couple of weekend rides so far this year due to ice / snow and I've only come off once on black ice (not bad). Will happily do a three of four hour ride in this weather - you just need the right clothing & never ever stop.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0
-
8 rides so far this year for me. Been out once per weekend, every weekend in 2010.
Don't enjoy riding in the dark much, so evenings have been limited to the turbo.0 -
Done about 800 miles on the road - that includes everything from chain gangs to commuting and taking the kids out on a little ride. Average ride probably about 40 miles so say maybe 20 rides, and 12 hour long turbo/rollers sessions.
To be honest it's not been that bad here - though I do live right next to the A6 so when it's been icy I've quite often been able to ride on that knowing it's well gritted.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -
I'll go out below zero, so long as the roads are dry. Stuck in a stupid bet at work that means I've done 67 rides so far (includes commutes!)
'09 Enigma Eclipse with SRAM.
'10 Tifosi CK7 Audax Classic with assorted bits for the wet weather
'08 Boardman Hybrid Comp for the very wet weather.0 -
Gone from 600 miles average to about 150miles per month.
It's ice that is the problem. Also driving rain in cold conditions isn't good either.0
