Getting really fed up with the white stuff. Was supposed to be doing the Phil Cooke Memorial this morning. Looks like rollers AGAIN!

It's not just the ONE day of snow that gets me - it's the fact it hangs about for days and weeks. And just when training was starting to get better. GRRRRRRRRRR
  • My wife is making plans already. Errrm no wife - it might be snowing but today is still my time and i will go to the garage and ride for 2 hours come what may.

i have managed to get out the last three Sundays in fairly nice (if a little cold) weather. Its a pi55er when you are really hungry to ride and cant get out. My mojo is at its zenith lol

Yep, sick of snow. I was on restricted ride time this week due to it being half-term. Now this. :( I don't mind doing intervals on the turbo but steady miles are so boring. Not sure what to do today..

Just bailed from doing the North Bucks Brickhills Challenge Reliability which would have been an 80 mile ride - got 10 mins down the road before the slushy snow had soaked through my gloves and into my socks - the thought of doing another 5 hours in those conditions was too much. Sounds like a good call as my mate has just texted me that it was cancelled anyway.

Time to break out the MTB again!!

Was planning a later ride today as the weatherman said the small amount of snow should have melted..

About three inches of the stuff, as pokerface mentioned it just takes too long to go! :x
  • just to be contrary

I do like riding my bike - but not as much as I love snow.

There's always something to do in snow - enen just going for a walk is suddenly more fun. Add mountains and it's really special.

It'll be gone by tomoz look at the weather report, although I must admit there was no warning for North Yorkshire of 6" of snow, I was looking on bookface and the A64 aint even being gritted!

aye, but the club ride was 9.30am today.

tomorrow night I'll not be doing 60 miles!

I need all the help I can get. I don't have a turbo or rollers.

Been snowing a bit the past few days, but it's really sunny so the roads are fine. :D

jeeesh, cold today. out on he mtb though as the roads round the peaks are still covered in snow ad i would prefer more than 20mm of rubber.

What i just dont get is why these d**ks in 4x4s think they dont need to slow down, they might have more traction than a 2wd but still need to account for the conditions......

I stopped by the roadside for a rest and fell asleep on the saddle. I too am sick of the sight of snow this winter.[/img]
  • well I had a nice time at the cycle sale and am now nearly £200 lighter in the pocket. The bike drawers are now full of new jerseys for when it warms up a bit

I was planning a road ride this morning, but this is where having a MTB at least doesnt scupper the plans completely! Dragged the old Spesh out and did a couple of hours in snow. Was good fun once the hands started to bet a bit of circulation!

I managed 20 miles this morning, with most of those being in sleet/snow showers. At least I got out but did less than half the mileage I had planned. Oh, and it was freezing too, my legs just didn't get warmed up at all today.

According to TriTalk forums, it's likely to be rescheduled for later in the year:

I was going to be doing it today. Very disappointing :( I suppose I should have believed the Met Office when they said there would be heavy snow in Daventry at 6am today - could have gone out yesteday instead. Darn it.

I've had my tourer over 2 years now and still not done a proper tour on it. A couple of months back I finally got my ar$e in gear and booked a week off work and few nights away in the Pennines and North Yorkshire, for next week, thinking the snow would be gone. So what happens? The snow and ice return. Don't fancy crossing 1500ft passes in the ice so I've cancelled my bookings.
  • I agree - this snow is doing my head in now. Cycled home from work tonight and it stuck to my glasses and was whipping my face til it stung. Bring on the spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
