Yeah - still riding it to work. My son and daughter ride it occasionally on family days out.
(They're not allowed anywhere near the S Works Enduro!)
surely you have too many bikes now tho
and ggod call on the sworks, no one is allowed to touch my maxlight now its abit blinger0 -

Funnily enough, that's exactly what the wife's saying at the mo.
I keep trying to explain that there are a few differing specialties within MTBing and that I need one bike for XCing, one for Freeriding etc. She's not convinced though.0 -
Nice work John . Im liking the build and loving the white cable details.
Heres how that frame used to look.

Thanks DD and many thanks again for an amazing frame at a great price - I've had fab time sourcing bits and building.
I'll let you know what I think of the ride within the next few weeks. (Although you probably have a good idea what I'm gonna say)
Pleasure doing business with you.0 -
Wow!!!! Looks absolutely gorgeous - really nice detailing with the white cabling and braided hoses - looks super neat.
And fair play to you sourcing and building it up yourself - did the same with my Bionicon and while it can be a slower process, I reckon it is so much more satisfying to have handpicked each part of your bike.
Enjoy it!!0 -
Christ there is some beltin bike on here just now. :shock:0

Bike in the work place then john?.....looks very nice, you'll have a bike for every day of the week soon!0
-
So you built it in a science lab? Or is that not a ventilation cupboard to the rear of some photos?
Either way, crikey. Impressive. :P0 -

Cheers zog - btw, sorry I had to dismantle your handywork re: LG1+. I thought it suited the Bullit much better, especially with the ISCG 05 mounts and the type of riding I have in mind for it.
Just gotta get out and use em now!0 -
No worries mate, it's allways fun fettling, may be we can hook up for a bimble sometime.....0

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
Unfortunately I can't get out on either bikes this weekend so I wont be able to report on how they ride for a week or so.zog wrote:No worries mate, it's allways fun fettling, may be we can hook up for a bimble sometime.....
Deffo gonna arrange a few outings with you - as long as you don't mind continuously waiting at the top of climbs - especially with the 34 pounder!
Get me fitter though!0 -
Just an update on the Bullit custom build.
Only been out on a 'proper' ride once so far on this bike. I have to admit, I really struggled on the trail, probably a combination of lack of fitness and the super tacky tyres. Anything other than DH and I was suffering.
Downhill was absolutely fantastic though, so smooth and controlled, I felt like I could just plough over anything and everything. Now need some routes with uplifts!
A few changes made since this;
Fox Float R 36s Forks (I find fox air forks and shocks just as, if not more, capable as the coiled equivalents - even DH! - in my opinion)
Fox DHX 5 Air Rear Shock
Monkeylite CNC DH Bars
Thompson Elite Stem
Hope Pro 2 Hubs with Sunn Ringle Equalizer Rims
Maxxis DH High Rollers Maxx Pro 60a 2.35 (anyone know what maxx pro is?)
Can't believe it's coming in at about 29 -30lbs!
Hoping to go to Afan over the easter so will get an idea how the slimline version fares.0 -
maxx pro is maxxis' hard compound rubber. looks amazing mate, almost as nice as the pitch :P0
-
such a nice bike. i'm going to get a used bullit, specilaized demo or sx trail for my next build0

yer i did love that colour pitch, especially with all the white kit. im working in my lbs now, so we've got some super nice bikes in, but im trying to persuade the guys to stock lapierre, onne because they sell like hot cakes, there's currently around a 90 day waiting list on some models, and two because im looking at getting a zesty, and i get a nice discount so could afford a 7140 -
Never ridden a Zesty either, but they do look cool and seem to get very good reviews. Don't forget to post it on here when you get it lawman.0

oh i will dont worry about that.i rode a spicy last year, was really nice but overkill for what i do, so sat on a zesty and it felt just about perfect, might change a few control bits and bobs to get the position sorted, wider bars and shorter stem, and if im feeling really extravagant and dont spend tooo much on beeer over the coming months might a cane creek double barrel ti shock to make it really fly :twisted:0 -
I need a santa cruz
Is it me or do the pivots looks awfully like a hope bottom bracketI assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.0
