Best bang for the buck shorts circa 40 quid ?

I have a great Gore full bib and that thing really looks after my @rse . With spring looming, Im looking forward to putting that thing back in the closet :D .I had looked at Gore Power III shorts , but 65 quid :shock: , thats expensive in my books for a pair of shorts. Are there any brands of padded shorts out there circa 40 quid mark that offer really good @rse protection and are outstanding value for money ?

    If you know the Gore shorts will be comfortable, I'd go for them, rather than taking a risk buying some cheaper unknowns. It's not worth messing about over that sort of money.

    £65 is not that expensive for decent shorts these. Should last a while too.

    they definitely look the part, wonder what the difference would be with the Gore Power III shorts which are 3 times the price ?
