Bit late for that comment now
  • McQueen got British Fashion back on track, he is also credited with designing Bumsters which we all love so much.

when gok wan get found with a carrier bag over his head are we going to go into national mourning once more

    probably....
perhaps after a select bunch of mincing fools discuss the artistic merits of the carrier bag, tesco is so 2009 he should have gone with an asda bag for life

To be fair to Gok Wan, he's more than a pretentious fashion designer in my eyes. To my mind, he's doing some good work in trying to change perceptions about how we view women in our society - trying to make women who don't, can't, won't and never will (barring surgery) look like an FHM model, feel slightly more self worth in the face of overwhelming adversity (the saturation of the media with perfect looking women).

Having said that, I've never seen his show. Not my cuppa tea

Thats funny, I have the the polar opposite opinion of him. Exploits fat burds to swell his coffers, but I have never seen the show, not my cuppa tea either

well yeah, don't mean to sound sanctimonious - but at the end of the day we've all got mothers, sisters and in my case, a daughter on the cusp of teenager-hood. I can see what's around the corner for her and a lot of it stinks. So I'm joining the sisterhood for her benefit. :)

hmmm - you maybe right there. There's a feeling that it's another way of getting naked women onto prime time TV too. Not that many of them on his show would do it for me (damn, damn, damn there go my noble intentions.....)

Very sad for his family and friends it must be a terrible blow.
However I think plenty of women must be giving a sigh of relief after years of trying to fit their bodies to his outlandish designs. I sometimes think that these designers hate women given their torture and ridicule of them with their designs.

It's a terrible shame when people die at an early age irrespective of who they are.

It never ceases to baffle me why successful, talented wealthy people ever get to the point where they end up committing suicide. Don't know if thats the case with Mr McQueen but you never know

And that's all that needs to be said.

Why everyone else needs to come on here and try to be funny about fashion etc leaves me baffled.

You obviously have no clue about depression, it's uncontrollable despite what people looking in may think about your life. IMO
