    You could say that true innovation is somewhat rare. Like I said before, most things
    are a series of slight improvements over the years. For my money one one of the bigger "innovations" in cycling was the quick release hub. Yet even it "only replicated
    what already happens".

    FWIW my only real problem with carbon fiber is seat posts. Had one, but just never
    felt as secure on it as I do on an aluminum one. Never really wanted to even contemplate
    seat post breakage, so carbon is out. At least there anyway. Plus I'm a heavy handed
    mechanic so something(like steel) that's a bit more resistant to abuse(for lack of better words) is a better frame choice for me. Plus I'm old, don't race, and don't care if a 100 miler takes a bit longer because of my steely(if in fact it actually does).

    Just curious if they are selling well or not?

    Not seen any, but the biggest take up seems to be in cyclocross. Guess this is something to do the ability to change gear smoothly at a near standing start??
