made some more progress tonight.........its pretty much done.

just needs the black dmr v12 pedals that the pace is lending, the bolts checked and tightened and a oil.

fitted the brake adaptor from my other san andreas as that is still in frame stage, rear caliper went on no problem, just going to add a couple of washers to space the bolts on the adaptor as they are pretty close to the disc, other than that it was a straight bolt on job.

i wouldnt mind getting the rear brake hosing lower to the swingarm, sticks up at the minute.....

forks look great, so will be using them on the build........

comparison showing the tubular seat tubing differences on the early (silver) san andreas compared with the pressed one on the later edition.

got some wheels to go on for now, looking for a red chris king aheadset in 1 1/8.

    secured red ringle skewers.

thinking maybe full XTR, or race face cranks. ringle stem and post.

modern discs will be a going on, wont be sticking v brakes on this im pretty sure anyways.

been out for a little ride tonight to test if it was ok for saturday

my back has been really sore all week so i aint been on a bike since a little ride on sunday morning.........riding bumblebee was fine though, like sitting on a waterbed!!!!!!!

quite happy with it, and its a laugh to ride. will change the tyres when i get a chance as the front could do with being wider and the rear could do with more grip.

    piccies..........

    trim the seatpost down.

plus the forks are being changed to ones that have a longer steerer.

In this months edition of Mountain Bike Action (an American based magazine) they revisited their test of the bike from 2000, it was already 10 years old then. I kinda laughed when I saw it cause it looks a little ridiculous in the same magazine as the new GT Fury.

I have a 2006 MC San Andreas DHS (large size) that I might sell if anyone is interested. I bought the frame brand new and built it up in 2007. I have only trail ridden it a half a dozen times since then at most. It is like new condition. I believe it was the last model built with the best enhancements the frame ever saw. It has the stronger shockmount that is recessed in the swingarm. These are the ones to have. On the older models the high shockmount eye was a weak point and prone to breaking. It's also rare in that this San Andreas frame is the only one I have ever seen that does not have the water bottle screw mounts on the top tube, or the water bottle mounts on the back of the seat sub-frame. This is not only SUPER rare, but makes the frame look amazing. You have to see the pictures to believe the difference. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Serious inquiries only though. I'd rather keep it than give it away. I also have the owners manual. Thanks and happy cycling to all you MC owners! I also have a 2007 Rumble (Limited Edition)! :)
  • For your silver San Andreas, what did you use a 1 1/4 inch steering tube width? For my SA I would like to get a fork with more travel but this old steering tube size is making it difficult.
