Team Time Trial is on - cycling fans has a link to Russian Eurosport.
It's flat, there's loads of sand and I've counted 5 spectators so far (all on the finish line).
Have you spotted any more?

The forum won't be happy....I expect some serious pointless discussion on how it means nothing and they are a mickey mouse, bunch of arrogant riders team vs fans of them saying the opposite.
The sky hate here us making everything they take part in tedious. When dirge classics start again?0 -

It will take more than 8kms in Qatar during February, before any conclusions can be drawn.

Quickstep looked messy compared to Cervelo, Sky and everyone else really.0

2009, Garmin.
Contador is the Greatest0 -
Good win. Can EBH get enough bonus seconds to keep the overall from Garmin or CTT?___________________

I know that eurosport siad that the teams aren't allowed to use their time trial helmets but surely blocking up those cooling vents will increase aerodynamics so have sky thought of something very clever there? not sure if it would make a 1sec per km advantage thoughMy Rides:

Don't think it's something new and innovative - if you go on the timetrialling forum you'll see advice about making a standard helmet more aero by taping the vents, if you don't have a bespoke pointy hat.Le Blaireau (1)0

I think we can credit Boardman/Keen for that one. He had giro make him an unvented helmet for his athlete's hour attempt0 -
ok thats enough evidence for me, i just wondered why none of the other teams did itMy Rides:

Does seem a bit odd. It's hot over there but you're not going to overheat in a 10 min effort.Le Blaireau (1)0

i cant imagine overheating in those 9' 41 seconds so must have been for aerodynamic reasons. Also this is probably just me but does anyone else find the UK National jersey kinda crap?My Rides:

For some reason Cervelo seem to have an extra 1 minute added to their time on the official results:

I assume it's a mistake and they haven't had a penalty added.0 -

What is it with grey tt covers and Uk teams...the track team have them too and they are revolting to look at. Do they make you go faster than black and white ones?!Contador is the Greatest0
-
I agree, although I like the blue ones Swift wears too. I guess the silver ones are the squirrel clubs go-faster material though!

Geraint Thomas was using the blue overshoes with the white "Sky" logo on the track at Revolution in January. Considering their attention to detail it seems weird that some riders aren't wearing overshoes at all. I would have thought you would get a small aero benefit for no downside (especially over 8.2km) in which case why not wear them?0

+1
I've said it before and I'll say it again - white shorts are a no-no.
Hagen Das's strip was much better. Can't stand these all white with a few lines on.'Google can bring back a hundred thousand answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.'
