Just got an email newsletter from "Planet X Bikes" saying..... Shimano Dura Ace 7900 Groupset, The sale continues. Save 47% off RRP with discount Code 200FFDA.
On their website it says save 20% with discount Code 200FFDA.
Which one is correct :roll:0 -
both probably - existing 27% discount supplemented with an additional 20%0

I see they've removed their Titanium bikes off the site .... they're still listing a few frames - but I'm not sure I believe Planet-X's stock levels - so they might be out too.
Wonder if they're out of stock or being replaced/discontinued?My cycling blog: http://girodilento.com/0 -
When are they gonna replace that 'orrible looking SL pro carbon frame?0
-
This year maybe .... they've been dropping hints about a new much better carbon frame ... and they're referencing new ones at the Tri show at Esher this weekend ... I'm almost tempted to go see....My cycling blog: http://girodilento.com/0

After being so impressed with my black PX Ultegra/FSA build, I ordered the Missus a small white SL Pro with the Dura ace 7900 deal last week.... order to delivery took just 4 days and it looks amazing.
What she doesn't know is that I've been up since 5am 'nicking' all the Dura ace bits off it and replacing them with my Ultegra & FSA stuff......MUWAHAHAHA
And there she was thinking that WTF is hubbie ordering a better bike for me than his.
Happy Valentines darling............. now sod off while I lick your, erm, I mean my DA chainset!!! :P
OH BTW .... the PX model B wheels are superb (got them on both bikes) hit some serious potholes since December and they're still true even with my 14st lardarse on them, and PX are knockin em out this week for £99 a pair..... amazin0 -
Would go for Red on the winter/trainer but I'm happy with what I have on there at the moment...
When it stops working properly then I'll change.0 -

I've understood that they will introduce new Ti and carbon frames in the very near future.
The current super-aggressive deals on the SL pro carbon bikes kind of indicate that they have a bit more inventory of the carbon frames than what they're comfortable with. 899 pounds for a full-carbon frame & fork, decent wheels and a 105 groupset is not a bad deal...0 -

No options for the chainset or cassette though.
Normally use Campag, but for £875 am tempted....
Don't think I'd use Sram if they were giving them away in all honesty, but that's just fussy me.0 -

Yeah, it must be crap...

Hopefully, they'll produce something even more interesting than the stuff to date. Agree on the stock comments too. Quite good deals but that frame just doesn't grab me - I do like the Titanium stuff though. I hope any new Titanium frames will still be made by Lynskey ... time will tell.My cycling blog: http://girodilento.com/0 -

I was posting what works for me the other day. If you don't get that then that's up to you but saying that you wouldn't have Sram if it's given to you is almost as pretentious as using italics when you write on a forum.0 -
I always use italics when replying, I always have, not sure why, nothing to do with being pretentious that's for sure.
But perhaps I am pretentious for saying about Sram, but as I said that was a honest statement. Sram hasn't been on the market very long but not long enough to make any mark on the pro peloton or your everyday cyclist yet, and yes I have tried it, Force and Red, but no it's nowhere as good as Campag Chorus, Record or SR. In fact I'd rather have DA instead of Sram.
Why you're taking offence I'm not sure, perhaps you have Sram and you disagree with me I don't know, or perhaps you're just pushing your weight around, I don't care either way. This forum is open for opinions and I have some.0 -

A bit 'ghey?' That's a new one on me Redd, did you mean 'gay'? perchance or are you just trying to be funny. Who knows. And a tyre kicker I am not. You should know that.0

Well, its all down to preference isn't it? But saying that it hasn't been there long enough to make "any" mark on the pro peloton is a bit much when the last years Tour de France had all the podium bikes ridden by SRAM Red.
Forgot the italics by the wayx-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

My Dura Ace Ti Sportive has arrived! Looks fantastic. Will take pictures and post in the My Roadbike section as soon as I've got home and swapped the stem and bars (I bought the Zipps on offer at PX a few weeks back).
Overall, I must say I wasn't massively impressed by PX over the course of the purchase. I give details when I post the pics. Nothing sinister, but they could have been a bit sharper in a number of areas.
