England and Wales have just been drawn in the same group for the Euro 2012 qualifying.

Different sport I know, but it will give you something else to taunt over.
England and Wales have been drawn in the same qualifying group for Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

Switzerland, Bulgaria and Montenegro are the other teams in Group G following the draw in Warsaw.

  • very dissappointing

wales losing to england in rugby is like getting a puncture in the middle of nowhere with no patches or spare tubes

but its worse knowing that englands game was poor and we could have dominated that 2nd half, i ended up drinking myself to destruction

Difference being, everyone in Wales expects the football team to lose, so they don't care when England hammer us. With rugby it's the opposite... it's the hope that kills us.

    Yup.

I fully expect the Scotland England game to be a ping pong affair with the score from both sides being a multiple of three.

    Sad
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.
  • I thought Wales came out too hard for the 2nd half and ran out of steam.

England buy no means looked the finished package but there's hope there and I do honestly think they will get better, better enough to beat Ireland though I'm not sure.

Same result as last year for me: Ire, Eng, Fra, Wal, Sco & Ita.

    ^ What he said.

Wales were just shite all-round though. Line-out was laughable, scrum was crap and our second most creative back was actually a prop.

James Hook was the only beacon of hope, and even he only played for 15 minutes.

Disagree re: the scrum. Wales were on top and should have had a penalty at virtually every one as the English tight head bound on the arm (if he bothered binding at all). The feeding was blatant too, the one went so far to the second rows feet he knocked it back to the Welsh side  Lineout was rubbish until Williams was replaced, distribution to the backs was rubbish until Cooper was replaced. Could have somehow won it despite all the faults until pushing too hard and giving away the interception try. France look the best side by far after the first game. Ireland weren't exactly convincing against possibly the worst Italian team in over a decade.
  • On the same theme, but a slightly different game.

I was at the Saracens/Dragons game last night (Saracens season ticket
holder for my sins) and the Welsh played very well, so much so that their
coach visited Brendan Venter at half time and told him that if you run, pass the
ball between your players, and are lucky enough to cross the goal line you
    score a TRY!!!! :lol::lol: :x

Not spending all f***ing game kicking, and trying for 40 yard drop goals. And it
was bl***y freezing as well. I thank you. :(

  • Forgot to ask - did anyone get to watch this in 3D as part of their O2 phone deal? Apparently they were showing it at selected cinema's for their customers.

I didn't but I saw Eng v Wal on a large HD screen. The spidercam made everyone feel quite sick.

  • I am going to give Rugby a miss from now until they introduce a rule to stop sides just punting aimless kicks back and forth to each other.
Maybe I am old fashioned but I thought Rugby was all about possesion of the ball, you have possesion you have a chance to score!!

Also leaving the ball at the back of a Ruck while for an age, it is all slowing the game down to a dull non spectacle.

Worst six nations games I have ever seen, and the welsh comeback should never have been as the second yellow card was wrong, it was just a collision not a trip and when scotland kicked off time was out!

    Rant over !!

Ironically, the build up to one of the best tries ever (the Baa Baas against the ABs) comprised of kicks back and fore, but I know what you mean.
    FCN 2-4.

Did you watch the England match today? Just wondering if your first comment still stands?

The red card was harsh but it was definitely worth a yellow, I don't think the Scots are complaining too much about that, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I dunno what can be done to reduce kicking but one thing would help, put the drop goal down to 1 point, that would suit us fine.

No point in complaining. They were well warned. Stupid is as stupid does.....

Speaking of which, punting the ball out to touch at the kick off would have meant a draw but no..........
Looking on the bright side, they played very well in the first half and reasonably well in the third quarter. I see promise, if they can keep fit players.
    Scotland/England may be tasty.

I thought it was only a yellow :? I can't see what Robinson is getting so worked up about and accussing Byrne of diving. When I saw it live it looked like he stuck his leg out to the side (AWJ did the same the week before against England and got away with it before getting caught on his second attempt). Nothing I have seen since has made me think otherwise. Also, how stupid were the Scots not to kick the ball out from the restart? Papered over the cracks for Wales who were dire for 60 minutes but hopefully it'll show them that the way to win matches is to keep ball in hand and run the opposition ragged.
They won't look so good with the English back row in their faces!!!!

Yeah, I bet they're quaking in their boots at that prospect after England's dominanace over the Italians

Had our usual good banter with the Scots in the crowd (two came into our block, looked around at the hundreds of Welsh and proclaimed "Christ we're surrounded"). Didn't stop them getting behind their team who played some brilliant rugby for an hour and defended superbly. It's nice to see a Scottish team (and one coached by Robinson  ) showing some top quality running skills. It's a shame that 3 of their best flair players are now injured though as, like Wales, they lack the strength in depth. Glad to see Thom Evans is apparently doing well though. Possibly at the end of the game they lacked a bit of fitness which together with the injuries and cards let us back in.

Good to see Jerry Flannery has been cited for that hack on the French player. It looks worse each time I see it!

Yes it did look bad, I grimace every time I see the replay.

in a post match interview, robinson was bemused by this as well and apparantly the team thought they stood a good chance of scoring.

2 players down and without possession...makes perfect sense lol from that point it was only going to end one way
