    Sell Them, cheap as chips!

They'll cost you thousands over the years, bike will be miniscule by comparison!

Slave trade, extras for snuff movies, medical research, John Terrys mates, the list of opportunities is endless for you to dispose of them all, LOL!

Yes they have 'heritage' but I object to buying a bike based on that the same as I do buying a bike from a company that spends sheds on marketing, specialized for instance. Just an excuse for a higher price? Go with something custom instead!

So custom builders don't market themselves or have 'Heritage'?

Go for it! It's an EPS and it's Colnago - nuff said!! Not my choice of colour but each to their own and don't forget the pics when built

Afraid to say (again) but this is my dream bike ie short of winning Fridays Euromillions it will remain a dream, so no pictures as no build (unless I win of course).

Oh and again for the record, I love my wife and kids dearly and wouldn't trade them for a bike!!

    How about a custom EPS?

With 22 frame sizes, standard, or compact, they are pretty custmised compared to most OTP frames.

I was more worried about how much they had thought through the process of selling them and where to. I mean snuff movies; I know she doesn't let me ride as often as I'd like or buy the kit I want, but snuff movies are a bit harsh. I was thinking more of wealthy arab sheik with impotence and 250 other wives

Just to keep the the theme going, I have a (reletivley) long body and short legs so a 56s would probably be OK, but as this a dream scenario I might as well go full custom :D
I could then get rid of the silly B Stay decal on ..... the B Stay and the CHS decal on the toptube as having a decal to tell people there is an integrated headset is frankly a bit naff.

If someone wants to offer me a 56s for free, I am prepared to overlook these minor details

  • Would you make more cash selling them or merely renting them? What's the service history like? Obviously there'll be on going manintenance costs if you rent, but if they're in reasonable nick, you might make more cash in multiple rents than you would on a single sale.

...and are you prepared to split, or are you only prepared to sell/rent a complete package?

As for the bike? Not my cup of tea, but whatever floats yer boat.
  • Take my word for it - you should sell the family.

Yesterday I went to my LBS to see my just-arrived C50 in AMIT colour scheme.

Almost certianly the last one delivered to the UK and maybe the last one ever made. In any case, it's gorgeous and just needs building up with the inevitable Campag kit.

    Roll on spring :)

If you go to Maestro, he'll do you a EPS in any colour you like - there was one on WW which was bare carbon with black decals, lightweights the lot - very subtle and very stealthy. If my numbers come up I'd certainly consider one - I already have a Colnago and their stability and handling is something few other bikes can achieve - there might be lighter and stiffer alternatives, but nothing quite as smooth and well-handling. Speaking to those that have ridden an EPS, most rate it as the best handling bike with few peers.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I voted No but for a different reason. You should have a "No - unpainted carbon is so 2009"

What you want is pure white with black lettering. 8)

Sorry Pete but pure white with black lettering is so 1984 BMX

Indeed. Fashion goes in circles and it's 80's time again!

You're so wrong. The 90s are back!

    From Sir Robert Millar:

You do realise that the country is slowly slipping towards a return of late Eighties fashion .

Sorry, but I had to!
  • Sell them?

Don't be so daft. That makes no economic sense.

Rent them out. You then retain an ongoing source of income to fund future projects.
There's no such thing as too old.
  • bean enjoy the bike, I got my c50 in October and its great

Disclamer: This post is tongue in cheek and in actual fact I have no intention of selling my family

For a while my dream bike has been based around a Colnago EPS. The only problems being a) I didn't like any of the colour schemes as I prefer black and the current colours look a bit 80's ski gear to me and b) I couldn't afford it.

But now reason a) has well and trully disappeared as I found when I discovered the following images on weight weennies for a new finish for 2010 (which made me yelp out loud)
    IMG_2598.jpg
    IMG_2601.jpg
    IMG_2600.jpg
    IMG_2599.jpg

So to problem b) would it be ethical to sell my wife and children to finance this build?
Should I be ashamed to even consider it? Yes, yes I love and cherish them deeply but its a naked carbon weave Colnago EPS!!

Please help me Bike Radar Forumistas, you are my only hope.

(by the way I voted 'No' - just)

I own an EPS and all I can say is, its truly an orgasmic frame to ride. The photos in MTBK look stunnin. The carbon weave is mouthwatering and it rides like nothing else. It climbs hills like a mountain goat and projects you forward like a nuclear warhead with every turn of speed. Just get one!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the 'I really hate you!' emoticon, on here!?

I think a little more info would be nice, as you are an owner.
How would it compare to a CX-1?.... Much in it?

Looks very nice but I think if I was going to spaff that sort of money on a Colnago I'd want a frame in one of their heritage colours.

Get an EPS but for gods sake don't put bloody Sram on it (got to be the ugliest groupset out there), look at the one in the link from hopper1, completely ruined with the wrong groupset. Good grief!!!
