Anyone as ridiculously excited about the new Massive Attack album as I am?
While you're at it, your favourite album of theirs?
Mezzanine for me.

Jesus that was tough. I chose Mezzanine over Protection due to the track "Inertia Creeps". Still gives me goosebumps. Tough call, tough vote if you like Massive Attack.0

Good call!
You don't really need the rest of Mezzanine - just the first 4.
I like how they're quite happy to front load their albums.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
So No to unecessary stickies.0

Mezzanine for me. I prefer their darker mood on that album
Really like the new single - it has nice shades of Cinematic Orchestra to itExpertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

Breaths of their orchestral leanings in Blue Lines?
Paradise circus really got a hook in me < hence the rabid excitement for the new album.
Anyone seen the video for paradise circus?
It's not one you're likely to find on youtube...Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
I think Karmacoma was outstanding, just as menacing as anything on Mezzanine but Protection (single) with Tracy whasserface from Everything but the Girl is so atmospheric, listened to it a lot on a tour of Angloa in 1995, plus with shades of The Smiths. IMHO.0

It's slightly too dubby for me...
There comes a point where the ridiculous reverb grates on me.
Purely because it has certain memories for me from my Uni days. I know exactly what you mean though.
From the choice I'd have to say Protection. No, Mezzanine, No! Erm, Aaaaargh!0 -

No love for Blue Lines?
It's the critics' favourite.
Have to say, took me many years to like Blue Lines, but I'm very keen now.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
I've gone for Blue Lines. It holds many memories, a quite a few of those in the bedroom.0

100th Window certainly had its moments but it was not the same band as Mezzanine. There is real creativity and genius on M that you just dont find on the other albums, perhaps as a result of the arguments?0

Mezzanine for me. Played it to death whilst driving to Derby to see a girlfriend. I used to come home late when the motorway was deserted & remember it suited my mood/scene perfectly....I drove a Mazda RX-7 (bonkers thing) at the time & would get caught up in the music & I'd end up ( inadvertently ) travelling at warp 9.8
Happy days!0 -

Blue Lines for me - never really got into their late-90's stuff.0

eurochild is my favourite song, but Blue Lines the best album. Young 'uns who've not heard of them - seriously have a listen, they're superb.0

I also think "Number 1 " by Goldfrapp is up there with the best of Massive Attack.
So is "Leave Home" by The Chemical Brothers and also "Sugar Daddy" by CJ Bolland.
Good times.0 -

I think you mean " I also think Portishead (self titled) and Leftfield's Leftism are up there with the best of Massive attack".
Or as I like to call, the holy trinity.

And Tricky's early output is hard to beat.
