    Re: Battery mounting, it sounds strange, but I've actually found the best place for it is under the saddle. I've got an XML-T6 light, very similar to the magicshines, and the velcro on the battery case is too long to hold it securely on my frame, and even if it was short enough, it would still slide along the tubes.

    Instead I run the cable along/around the rear brake cable and then wrap the battery bag velcro around the saddle rails and the inner tube I keep zip tied to them.

    Obviously this won't work if you've got a saddle bag. But if you've got mudguards it's a pretty well protected place to keep the battery, and it deals with most of the excess cable length.
