Garmin 705 and Course Points with bikeRouteToaster

Apologies if this has already been answered but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere, including the Kinlan site.

I've had my Garmin 705 for yonks now and tend to plot routes with BikeRouteToaster. Most of my routes haven't needed detailed course points so I haven't used them much, but recently I've been doing more rides where detailed instructions would be useful. I'm probably missing something but when I add a course point to the route (red balloon), there doesn't seem to be anywhere to add the text. How do I get a box to pop up so I can add text?

thanks

Update - I've just found the answer, sorry, it's in the Edit section.

I'm guessing you didn't read my post properly before posting, uh?

It does seem to play up though and won't allow me to add info to more than 2 course points. Am I missing something?

Tried plotting a route last night and after 3 or 4 course points it wouldn't let me add text to anymore. Any ideas?

Something's not right as there was an error in the bottom left of the screen every time I tried to do it.

Make sure you have the Detailed Directions box ticked in the options on the sidebar. Then click on the yallow bubble then on the sidebar click on To course point iconYou should be able to add more course points.

Thanks, but I already have Detailed Directions ticked and clicking the yellow bubble works fine, but it stops working after I have entered text on 3 or 4 course points. After that point it won't allow me to add anymore.

presuming you have decent maps on the device.

download it as a gpx file then navigate to your 705, garmin > gpx

    drop it in there

then you can navigate it from where to > Saved rides

dont have to use courses.... everyone seems obsessed with them :) using a course means you cant do some other functions at the same time. I.e. a set of intervals via workouts. Which you can still get navigation thought the above, and have a workout running. With a course you can't. :)

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
