Oh and how did the Spectral amps do in the home demo?

I guess nothing happened with them.

Oh and yes it is a small world.

Just tried the pre at home, it was fab but decided to spend the money on a new frame instead. Probably going to go for one of the new MusicWorks stands at some point though...

    Back to OP, NapD...
I'm suffering from the same symptoms
I think it's because you are considering stuff 'just for the sake of it', and it's all becoming 'samey'!
It wont last long.... Soon enough, you'll see something in a mag, or on the 'net, and you'll hit the 'BuyIt!' button without thinking about it, then you'll know you need that bit!

Maybe you should re-orient your covetous side toward things that can't be bought as easily. How about obsessing over a period bike build, like, say, a 1971 Masi:

When I first started cycling I spent many years dreaming about having a bike like the pros ride,so that was the aim. When I got a job - that was my big project - a pro bike. So after some saving - I got it. And then a few years later - another one. And another. And now I'm buggered if I can justify spending the huuuuge amounts of cash that they want for a pro standard bike.

I'm no pro - and I cant tell the subtle differfences that a pro can tell. (at least if you read the bike reviews anyway).

I reckon its very much diminishing returns over say £1500 or so. I cant get excited about a new headset that will save 10 grammes - cos I know I wont notice it. And I dont buy things because they look pretty - I cant see the bike when I'm riding it.

Buying all the pretty carbon toys cant come near equalling the feeling of a summer ride when the roads are smooth and the legs are working and the bike is silent. Thats what cycling is about. Well that or inflicting 'Quadpower' on your riding mates.

    That's it I think Cougie.

I've had enough of the diminishing returns, I stopped with the HiFi and now I'm stopping with the bike.

HiFi is all about the music - sitting back, relaxing and listening to some good choons with a good glass of red.

Cycling is all about the riding - Those sunny days when the roads are smooth and the legs are working and the bike is silent. (copyright Cougie 2010)

Oh my. Have I come out the other side of a mid life crisis at 34?

I didn't know Rapha did retro-looking-and-ever-so-slightly overpriced hifi?

Nice, but not sure it goes with the Specialized speakers. I hope those cables are Nokon.

Nap. The hi-fi system looks good, you should listen to Craig David on it.

He likes to talk about himself in the third person too.

Was literally just about to press the 'Buy' button on a DA 7900 Groupset for the Litespeed and I changed my mind.

    I just couldn't be ar5ed!

    What is up with me?

    Please advise.

I can't even be bothered to get 2010 Force!

We all hit a slump or two in our lives. I'd recommend a bit more rest. You sound over trained or overbought. Keep up with the nutrition also. A couple weeks and you should start to come around to your old self. If not it could be a symptom of a more serious problem. That being, you're actually growing older and wiser. This can be extremely serious and needs to be addressed by a professional ASAP. If left untreated you could find yourself actually NOT buying a new bike every year. Get to your local bike shop immediately with money or credit cards in your pockets.

Jaysus WTF is that monstrosity?? I know it's expensive and probably sounds perfect blah blah blah but really, I wouldn't be suprised you told me it was designed by a blind man.
