Not sure I really want to hear the answer for this, but...

How much can you get a complete Pinarello for, particularly the 2010 model Team Sky are using....looks fab!

Or if that's not possible, I know the Dogma 60.1 frame and fork set is being sold north of £3K! How much would you need to add to get the remaining set-up?

I don't know if the Sky frames are going to be available or complete bikes but even if Pinarello did sell the complete thing I'm sure you could achieve the same thing yourself building up from separate components. I guess you're talking at least £8k.

Jeez.... You could have at least whispered that..... I nearly fell off my chair, then
I liked that frame, too....

My LBS owner has built himself one of these. Di2, the works... said I could have it for only 20 grand.

    Ouch.

Pinarello Dogma with Shimano di2 + carbon wheels = £10,000+. ($15,500 in usa!!!)
Not too sure if it is available to buy in the Sky colours yet though.

Expect a new Dogma extralight by July, Wiggins tdf special.

It does look overpriced for what it is.

Fantastic graphics and colours imo, that blue goes with black - or carbon I should say - so well. You may have to have a word with some of the dealers or at least the distributor for availablility.

UPDATE - Spoken with the importers Yellow who told me that Pina WILL be bringing out the Dogma in Team Sky colours and will be available in the UK end of March.

So there you go Simon your dream will be possible after all.

Actually I don't think it's that dear. It's the gruppo and wheels that are silly. I'm not that fussed about the concept anyway, but frankly I think the Di2 is ludicrously expensive. I'd have any of the other groupsets (Super Record, Red, or 7900, in that order) and save a couple of grand happily.

Besides, I'd much rather have one of these for a fair chunk of change less.

Yes, and the Dogma would have been so better for Team Sky with campagnolo.

They will have a Sky replica frame I believe; some online retailers are taking orders for them they are £3.5K so the same cash as the other colours!

I looked into it for all of 10 mins!! Totted up the price for the spec I wanted, laughed and then went for the ProMachine and my own build, gone for those DA 50mm wheels though!

Why anyone would order a BMC over a Pina I don't know, perhaps you rode a Pro Machine and loved it, I wouldn't know, but for me, I would wait or a Sky dogma ... sorry just curious.

Wiggins was saying on twitter about speaking to Pinarello about getting the bikes weight down - so I'm not paying that much for a 'porky' frame. :D

That depends what you call 'porky' cougie ..... probably all the electronics on the di2 I guess ...

(actually - 3k is just waaay too much for a frame for me - I'm no pro - I wouldnt notice the subtle differences or do it justice)
  • It's sooooooo pwitty though!! This is the one time I let my utter shallowness overtake everything else.

I just felt that £3.5K for a frame and forks is an absolutely silly amount of dough. Maybe if it was made in Italy and by Ernesto just maybe (can of worms)....but not for a Taiwanese job at £1300 over what it should be.

The new issue of Ride Cycling Review magazine here has a feature test on the Dogma, and noted a couple of things:

Frame weight was 1204 gm for a 53 cm, plus another 428 for fork and crown race, so no, super light it isn't. Still, the finished bike with Super Record 11 sp and Fulcrum Racing Speed wheelset was 6867 gm.

Even the pro they spoke with (Chris Sutton) said he "wouldn't call it comfortable, frame is too stiff for that..."

The same issue also tested the BMC SLR01, and with Red gruppo, and Zipp wheels, it cost half the price (10 grand instead of 20!) and weighed 6060gms, with pretty much all the weight difference coming from the frameset and wheels.

When was the last time you could say a Swiss company provided great value for money??? :o

Yeah, you wish  I looked at one of these, but €3700 plus duty and VAT for the frame and forks put paid to that.

The Sky Dogma is pretty, but Pinarello have become laughably overpriced in recent years. I've got both iterations of the Prince which are great bikes, but I won't be buying another Pina. My next bike is european

I have tested both the new dogma and the new bmc and would say wait the 4-5 Italian weeks for the dogma.

Tell us about the handling on the dogma CliveDS. Super-smooth and stable on descents? As nice feeling as a Cento Uno?

Have not ridden the Cento Ono"would love to" as for the Pinarello there are 4 reviews on my blog as well as the review of the new BMC I just finished.

The Dogma is everything you think it might be. Very smooth, silent on the road, stiff as all hell yet comfortable. I try not to let my eyes gloss over when I talk about it.

Thanks Clive I'll check out your blog pages. Btw the Cento Uno is THE sweetest handling bike i have ridden in a long time. If you get a chance of a ride - grab it! Recommended.

I am sure it's great, I have a friend who works at Lampre and he tells me they are the best bikes the team has ever used.
