Complete noob to using a turbo trainer

I've just bought a second hand tacx speedmatic turbo trainer without a user manual.
Am I going to need one as this will be the first time I have used a turbo trainer?
And are they easy enough to set up?

You won't need a manual. I've got one very similar and they're pretty straight forward.
- You'll need to use the supplied QR in your back wheel (it's quite square at both ends so won't come out of the holes).
- If you're using a MTB on it, I'd suggest using a slick tyre on the backend. This will stop you from chewing out your tyre and going deaf.
- When you've got the bike mounted up, close up the roller and make sure there's good resistance against the tyre.
Get yourself a front tyre mount as well.. the yellow pages get soggy quicky.
Hope that helps.Lapierre Zesty 514 - 20100 -
That's great, thanks.
It's for my road bike, it was sold with a Continental Ultra Sport Home Trainer.Pitch Pro - http://heathy.pinkbike.com/album/My-Bike

You'll be fine then. I guess it's a matter of preference whether you prop up the front wheel.. try it with the yellow pages first and buy the wheel stand thingy if you like the difference.Lapierre Zesty 514 - 20100
