You haven't answered my question. What does that "someone" you refer to look like?

Honestly, you have me completely confused.

What would someone throwing ice look like?

What kind of question is that?

You looking for a hair colour or something?

As I'm sure you're aware, I'm not asking you what the person throwing ice looks like, am I? It helps if you read it properly.

  • didnt say it wasnt an accident. I was simply highlighting an incident which occured due to a person throwing a snowball.

I had some kids chuck snowballs at me when walking down the road t'other day.
I had to flee for my life before they hit me, they could have damaged my beautifal face!
In fact, I now carry a stun gun everywhere I go, just in case they take a shot. Then I give em a zap in the face. As they're twitching on the ground I pelt them with snowballs.

    Because I'm the bigger man.

Or I could stop having a hissy fit over a child throwing flaky bits of frozen water at me, causing mild discomfort, and get over it. Geez.

It's an old public-school boy way of refering to youths of a class lower than you. It's certainly not cool.

If you look like someone who would call them 'oiks' then it'd probably explain why they fancied throwing some ice at the window you were at!

Oh dear a 'working class chip'

    Hah!

I've been accused of a lot of things, but never that.

Edit: Definiely a class word: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/oik

    Definitely derogatory.

And what do you call members of the middles or upper classes?

Middle and upper? I don't tend to refer to people by their class anyway? Makes no difference to whether you're a good person or not.

Why what should I be calling them?

That's funny, you brought class into it by saying "If you look like someone who would call them 'oiks' then it'd probably explain why they fancied throwing some ice at the window you were at!"

Stereotyping too! Tut,tut. (although you knew that didn't you, which was why you kept evading my question) :-

Now the snow has melted, worth remembering that the threat of being hit is still out there.

Yesterday whilst resting up near London Colney/Shenley area, some oiks/cu*ts/yobs [delete as appropriate] drove past and threw a pork pie at me. Direct hit on the back of my neck.

    Things to note:

    1) it was near a junction so the car they were in was only travelling at about 30 mph. This meant the impact speed was reduced.
    2) It was only a 'snack' variant and not the full 1kg monster with an egg in the middle version (or even worse, the crusty topped with cherry deluxe version).
    3) I was only on a short ride and thus did not pick the pie up and treat it as an impromptu food stop.
    4) I had stopped pedalling to take a work conference call. It is disappointing to note how little sympathy I received when asking for the call to be suspended for a short time as I had been attacked by a pork pie.
