Hi all,
My head is fried with the variety of turbo trainers out there ... Any advice on what ones to go for or avoid (Magnet, fluid...) I don't need anything computerised.. so pretty basic Ithat can (hopefully) be used on a club tri night (when I'm fit, now recovering from a broken sesamoid misdiagnosed as gout since mid 90's!)
Grateful for your help, Wizza1

Used on a club tri night!? Surely you would be out riding a bike, rather than sat on a turbo trainer?
If you want a basic turbo - then BUY a basic turbo. Cheap and cheerful will get the job done.
Pretty much anything by Tacx or Cycleops (off the top of my head).
If you want variable resistance, noise reduction, etc - then the options become somewhat more clouded.0 -

Just about anything in the £100-£150 range with variable resistance will be all the turbo that most people ever really need--

Ribble (http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk) has a sale on turbos right now. Might be worth a look.0 -
CycleOps Mag at around £100 is a great buy.0
