10k running race with 30,000 others at 6pm then dinner at home with family, the 12 grapes with the dongs of the bell at midnight and then... best not to make plans and go with the flow. but i doubt it'll be "large" - its the most expensive and complicated night to go out of the whole year.

Where is this race? I know there's a small (100ish runners) race in Derbyshire but where do you get 30k? Rio?
  • baby sitting cousins 4 week old son, while she gets to go out and get totally hammered. On the positive side i get to watch Jools Holland.

Myself & Mrs.Andy arrived in Mousehole ( little Cornish fishing village) about 6ish. Met our friends from that there London. Been pub, had tea & a few pints of "Rattler" cider now back in room. Mrs A is tired out so early to bed!

We've got a meal booked for NYeve then into pub for 12 bells to see in 2010.

It's 10 degrees here & as festive as you like. The entire village is decorated with lights. Third year now we've done the Mousehole thing & it's just about my favourite place. Fancy a move down here when I'm done grafting.

All the best to y'all for next year!

Working nightshift right through it this year. :(
Last year i sat sober with my son and watched Jumanji on tv while my missus (pregnant at the time) slept. Then we rubbernecked a neighbours fireworks and then wen't to bed.

Sounds like I'm as rock'n'roll as the rest of you!

Got a couple of couple friends over for dinner. Lots of ale / fireworks / ale - whats not to like!

Up at 6 / 7 ish with the kids & drink tea for a couple of hours and then dial into work and change the vat, download some reports, etc. Then out of the bike for a ride followed by early dinner out!

May go to a party that's been organised by friends at a local hall - they're supplying food, music etc, we just bring our own booze (and pay £20 towards the food etc). Or may just stay in and put my feet up and watch a film with the wife and kids.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Going to a restaurant for a pleasant meal with the misses.

    Nice but sad.

    Community spirit is dead.
    First footing is dead.
    Hogmanay is dead

I tried to resurrect it a couple of years ago to no avail.
Young uns don't know how to enjoy themselves.
Telly on at a party?
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Here in the Netherlands the Fireworks have already started. The firemen ,police and paramedics will be working flat out to keep up with the huge number of incidents that always occur on NYE.An absolute waste of Fu@@in time if you ask me.As for me, the neighbours are coming for a drink and a few snacks, hope to get out on the bike tomorrow but with the huge amount of Firework residue all over the place it wont be easy.

  • My New Year's Day treat is cleaning out several goats, a naughty pig, flemish bunnies, guinea pigs, with an 11-mile bike ride there and back. If I can arrange a roll in the hay with a buxom wench, my day will be perfect.
